Ayela opened her jaws to reply but a demanding yowl ripped through the air. Ayela's eyes widened in remembrance.

"Our ceremony!" She yowled and raced towards the tribe's campsite.

She skidded through the entrance, not looking back to see if Tally was behind her, and barreled into the awaiting crowd. Looking up shyly, Ayela fixed her gaze on Raquin's angry one. She winced and stood up, shaking the dust and snow from her white pelt.

"Sorry we're late." She dipped her head respectfully, "We had to stop for a moment but everything is fine now."

She didn't want to tell Raquin, her leader, that she had nearly fallen into the gorge. He might delay her ceremony.

Tally had almost ran into Ayela as she skidded to a stop, but halted, her paws splayed for friction, just in time. She relaxed her stance and stepped up, standing beside her dappled friend. She bowed her head respectfully at Raquin, her light eyes straining to look up enough to see him clearly. She hoped he wouldn't press her or Ayela for details about why they had stopped, she didn;t want him to prolong the ceremony. SHe had been waiting for it ever since she was a cub, not allowed to leave the small den unless her mmother went with her.

Raquin narrowed his eyes, as thought he wanted to hear more. But to Ayela's relief, he didn't ask. He stepped forward and motioned for Ayela to come first. She leapt up to scramble up beside him, her haunched still sore from the struggle at the cliff. Raquin yowled to the sky with a mighty voice, the rest of the tribe joining him one by one. He then turned to Ayela and spoke.

"You both have lived for two years and your snow has finally fallen. It is time you are made a true tribe member, a true Snow Leopard." He said, the yowling from the tribe dieing down to a soft murmur.

"Ayela, daughter of my sister, do you agree to become a full snow leopard, with the responsibilities resting on your shoulders?"

"Yes."

"Very well, I welcome you to the tribe as a full snow leopard!" Raquin yowled the last words, cheers from the tribe drowning the sound of his voice.

Ayela jumped down from beside Raquin to stand beside her best friend. Raquin stood still, waiting for the cheers to die down before he spoke again.

"Tally." Raquin summoned.

Tally leapt up beside him, more easily than Ayela had, for she hadn't been the one dangling off the cliff. Excitment coursed through at a new level as she stood beside Raquin, the other tribe members looking up at her and Ayela, murmuring quiet congratulations to her friend, unheard by Raquin.

Raquin turned to Tally and dipped his head before speaking.

"Tally, daughter of my brother(if not tell me), do you agree to become a full snow leopard, with the responsibilities resting on your shoulders?"

"Yes," Tally said, her voice steady inspite of her excitment and nerves.

"Very well, I welcome you to the tribe as a full snow leopard!"

Raquin stepped forward and yowled to the skies, his voice booming throughout the land.

"Spirits! Our ancestors! I give to you two fully trained, full snow leopards to honor and serve her tribe well." He dipped his head and the rest of the tribe did as well, echoing his silent prayer of good luck to the new members of their tribe.

Ayela dashed over to Tally, pride and excitement in her eyes.

"That was great! We're members of the tribe now!"

"I know!" Tally said, the same excitement showing in Ayela's shining eyes on her face clearly. "I can't beleive it really," she said, her tail flicking happily. n"I've been waiting foor this ever since I was a cb, and now it seems like it was all just a dream," Tally said, shaking her head slightly and slowly.

Ayela nodded. She felt the same as well, as though all this was not real and she was still a cub curled beside her mother.

"But hey! We get to go on the next border raid, eh?" She nudged her friend in the flank playfully.

Raquin walked up to the two young Snow Leopards and smiled meekly before addressing them.

"Today you will go to the border with Wanila." He said and walked away before they could ask any questions.

Ayela smiled brightly and excitedly. Wanila was the second in command over the tribe and she took all new Snow Leopards to the border to meet the enemy tribe.

I don't know. Good Tribe and Bad Tribe??? XD No, maybe it should be like Tribe of Shadows, Tribe of Light, etc.

Ayela leapt up in the air with powerful legs and swatted a small dove from it's perch above them. It fell in between Ayela and Tally and she smiled.

"We should eat before we go. No fun being hungry on a border raid!" She leaned down and wolfed down her share of the dove.

As Ayela waited for Tally to finished, she watched Wanilla stalk around the clearing and an annoyed mood. Wanilla always had an annoyed mood. Ayela pricked her small ears as Wanilla turned sharply on two playing kits as they barreled into her. She unsheathed her claws and raised her paw, frightening the kits out of their minds. The kits tumbled away in fear and Wanilla smirked, turning back to walk over to Ayela and Tally. She was still a little way afar from them so Ayela turned to whisper to Tally;

"Why doesn't she like kits?" She asked.

Tally shrugged. "I don't know," she said, swallowing down the last bit of meat.

"Why is she always annoyed?" Tally asked, looking sypmathetically at the kittens, who were wide eyed and 'hiding' from Wanila, still staring at her. They were both good qeustions, but no one could answer them but Wanila herself, and ally was not about to ask her.

As Wanila came into earshot, Ayela decided not to ask her about the kits. It would make her mad and she might swat them more violently then she threatened the kits.
