Well, she was upset about the fact that she was the one who was mostly part wolf. By running away she discovered her powers of being able to see visions/thoughts, leading her to the wolf pack. So yes, I believe that this was the best thing for her.

I think she needed to run away.If she hadn't,then she'd never have found who she really was,and Balto wouldn't have found out that Aniu was his mother.

I agree with both answers, though had Aleu not run away, there would have been a different plot and probably a completely different resolution to the whole film.

Remember, Aleu is a young child, even at a year old. She's headstrong and stubborn like her father, and after that bombshell of her heritage is revealed, she's a rebellious spitfire, feeling that running away from the source of her problem is better than talking it out. Besides, it's not like she could control being part-wolf and the whole "humans think you look wild" problem - that was destiny set in motion since the moment she was conceived.

Again, if she hadn't run away, neither she or her father would have experienced this journey into the importance of having the wild blood of the wolf flowing through their veins. And of course, Aleu's ultimate destiny to take Nava's place as the next Alpha of the wolf clan. At least by the final film, Balto doesn't seem to be as ashamed of his wolf heritage because of this journey.

But seriously, what if Aleu didn't run away? How would her life be compared to what ended up happening? Well, she knows that no human would ever adopt her because of how she looks, not to mention humans may continue to hunt her down because of how she looks. Most likely, she would have to be protected by her parents for as long as she lived in captivity... but as we know so well, that's just not in her personality. She wants her own independence, even if it means taking a risk... Isn't that what the purpose of life is anyway? Life is nothing more than a learning journey.

I guess, i mean it was sorta the plot of it, and most people.. if they are sensitive and someone says something, they get hurt and like run away... whoch is retarded, in my thought. But if Aleu didnt run away, it wouldnt made sense for the plot and so.

Yes, because if she hadn't she wouldn't have known about the quest and she wouldn't have found out how she really was.

Personally I LOVE ALEU! And in her defense and in my opinion She sort of did. It was a lo for her to take in and she was really hoping to be adopted by someone. And second she was destined to. If she hadn't she probably wouldn't have met Nava and Niju and the other wolves.

Was it the RIGHT thing to do? Probably not as running away is not a good thing to do. On the other hand, it was what destiny had her do. I think "Who You Really Are" sums it up pretty well, she had to go on the quest to discover who she really was inside. If she hadn't run away, then she wouldn't have found out who she was meant to be and been miserable. So its not so much a matter of rather she did the right thing from a moral perspective, its a matter of finding out the truth about herself. Its not the right response, but destiny used it to let her find out the truth about who she was.

I actually don't think it was such a good idea to run away. Yes it caused the whole quest where she found herself, yada yada, but she could have figured that out by asking her own family. That would have made a lot more sense.

And if she had stayed at home, not in the forest acting like a wolf (stalking around, pouncing, howling, etc.), the town would appreciate her. After all, the town loved Balto. As seen from the end of the first movie and the entirety of the third movie. If she had stayed where most of her siblings lived, the town people would have recognized her as Balto's daughter and accepted her anyways.

And she would have been adopted sometime or another. Or at least, that's my opinion. Running away is never a good idea. In Balto 2, it's almost as if they're telling the younger kids who watch it 'oh, run away if you get upset! You may find out who you are and everything will turn out alright!'
