"You got that right." He barked to get his Micheal's attention and wagged his tail at him, to show how much he cared for him as well as Dewy did. "Well we better relax for the night, were going to need it, the next checkpoints is three times as far as this one."

Nick had shoved his head into Micheal's chest before he left, as if cuddeling with him in that short period of time. He dug his hole once Micheal had left and curled his tail around his nose and body keeping himself nice and warm.

Dewey's ear flicked as a drop of snow fell onto it. But other than that, he was rather motionless. He snored quietly and even dreamt of racing to the finish line and pleasing Micheal.

Micheal was restless for a while, but managed to sleep with the thought that he had to if he wanted to pass the checkpoint.

(Time skip)

Dewey heard crunches on the ground and brought his head up, which was covered with snow. He heard Micheal yawn and saw get out of the tent. Dewey got up and shook the snow of of his body. He sneezed the snow of his nose and sat down, wagging his tail furiously.

Nick's head flew up and he jumped to his paws, shaking snow and bits of ice off of his fur. He looked at Micheal and watched as the Dewy, Micheal, and his own breath made little white puffs in the cold air.

Nick ate his fish. "I think we can. Or at least close to it." He barked loudly trying to get Micheal to come back over to him and Dewy.

Nick looked down at his harness, and then nodded his head up and down. Telling Micheal that they would win the race for him. He wagged his tail firously hoping that Micheal would understand what he was saying.

Nick nodded again and barked. His tail seeming like it could win the race itself with how fast it was going.

Nick barked in agreement. He new that Micheal belived in him and Dewy and in the rest of the team, he formed a doggy smile at him. He turned and barked to to the team. "Come on guys! Rise and Shine!"

Dewey snarled loudly and the team got up with a loud thud. They always seemed to hear Dewey's warning better than Nick's, and Dewey figured it was because he was tougher on them. "Next time you get up the first time, understood?" he growled.

(Time Skip)

Micheal finished up and went back up to the team. "Alright guys, time to get working." He looked at all of the harnesses and the lines, to make sure nothing was loose. He made sure the brakes worked fine and then did a quick inspection of the dogs. "Alright, well you're all fine. No bruises on your paws, no twisted legs. Guess we can say this went well."

Nick rolled his eyes, he new he was goes easy on them, but most of them didn't get to see his harsh, mean side. He pressed against his harness, making it shift a little bit. He wanted to get running and win this thing for Micheal! He looked back and barked and then pressed against the harness again, this time making the whole sled move about a foot forward. He wagged his tail, he would pull his team to victory if he had to!
