And it starts!!!

Epic Mickey is not yet released, but Warren Spector has announced that there will be Epic Mickey comics released.

What did I say about becoming a franchise?

This actually means nothing. Many high profile games have comics before launch.

Well you said it yourself. Disney games didn't USE to be high profile games. Even their other current games (Tron, Carribean, TS3) are higher profiles when compared to what they did in the last 10 years.

There's a huge difference b/n a game developed by Disney Interactive Studios and a game published by Disney.

Well the Up, Princess & The Frog, Disney Sing it, Ratatouille, Bolt, the previous Pirates of the Carribean games, etc are all Disney Interactive Studios games, yet none can be considered "high profile".
And I'm forgetting the early 2000 games here, which were no better.

Dude... that's what I meant.

Games developed by DIS suck by default.

Epic Mickey is a Disney Interactive Studios game. Though this comes from a new production team (Junctions Points)

Dude, please.... DO YOUR RESEARCH. Epic Mickes is NOT a DIS game. It's a Junction Point game. Yes, Disney acquired JP in 2007, but the studio was established in 2005. It does not matter that Disney owns JP, it's still not a DIS game.
Microsoft used to own Bungie, but Halo remained a Bungie game, not a Microsoft Games Studios game.

Well you should really check the official site again, then...

http://www.junctionpoint.com/

What's at the top right and the big logo at the right of the site? And I don't even mention all the trailers for the game which show the DIS logo as well. Where's the difference between Junction Point and, for example, Avalanche Software? (which made Bolt, Hanna Montana, Robinson and Chicken Little games) None.

It doesn't matter much though. Any studio "bought" by Disney becomes a Disney Interactive Studios game, that just a brand. It's more a property issue than anything. Halo is also a Microsoft Games, because they own the property and will continue to make Halo games even though Bungie decided not to continue.

Oh...... They became part of DIS, but they remained independent. What that means is that the JP staff is not part of DIS. Everywhere it is being mentioned that the game is being developed by JP, not by DIS. The DIS logo is there, because Disney Interactive is the publisher. It's the same with Halo. Bungie used to be part of Microsoft Game Studios, but they remained independent.

Sony bought Naughty Dog...Soooo Uncharted should be counted as a Sony game, right ? Of course not - it's a Naughty Dog game.

I could go on like this, but I guess we would end up nowhere. I just don't see what is a DIS game studio for you, or a Microsoft or Sony studio then.

According to this :

http://www.gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=134849

There is an action map in the game, "based on The Jungle Book and the Lost Boys’ hideout in Peter Pan"
So it may still be possible to see "rejected versions" of some of the characters of Jungle Book in the game :)
Only two months to go!

I do actually agree with this argument; but I always cringe when I hear about it simply because it is never applied in a logical matter. One example is the Mario Party series which is developed by Hudson Soft (and while the games aren't as awesome as Super Mario Brothers they still sell a lot more than most games). Not logic should dictate that it's a Hudsonsoft game right? Problem is; being someone who has seen the forums in videogames knows that most gamers would never believe that and still call it a Nintendo even though Hudsonsoft is actually a part of Konami which is an independent developer and publisher (Konami publishes for most major formats including the upcoming Nintendo 3DS). It seems that everytime Nintendo is involved; it's a "Nintendo" game regardless on who developed it and the status of said developer.

As for Disney Interactive games being garbage; I haven't played a Disney Interactive game (published or developed) so I refuse to comment on it.

Here's the (so far) only picture there is of that Jungle Book world of Epic Mickey :

Image

The vulture seems to be taken from the film.
