I really don't like Marvel, (More of a DC fan) but NO.
Marvel is more....teenager/adult, Disney if for kids, I feel for comic fans.
I thought the Disney faries were rather lame....along with a few other things they have made, Ok, a lot, why ruin Marvel?
(The Disney Farie thing is my own opinion, don't go crying over it)

What's wrong with fairies? C'mon, they are so sweet, pretty, funny, smart and oh, they are just great!

I don't like the movie, I don't like the way they made it, I think it was a rip-off.

admittedly Disney is leaving the movie licensing alone for now so the same people who made X-men, Iron-man, Incredible Hulk etc. movies will still make them, for now. I think this at least shows Disney understands the purchase they made and maybe they won't muck around in what Marvel's staff wants to do with the franchises

That's good! I know comic fans are over-joyed by that!

Shame they didn't buy Batman! NOW THAT would be something!!!! :)

That would be horrible. Disney is never really suited for complexed characters like Batman. lol.

You guys all seem to forget how the Warner Brothers purchase of the DC Comics company has actually done well for DC. While Warner Brothers' animated superhero features (animated movies and series) have, like their live-action Batman movies, taken dramatic license with the original material, it has also brought in fresh new attention to the characters and the comics.

I suggest that, while we all agree that Disney has taken some real idiotic paths recently in its properties, we wait and see what comes of the purchase. You all don't, in fact, know whether or not it will be a bad thing. You're doing what is commonly known as "Friday morning quarterbacking" (predicting a possible outcome).

I mentioned something similar in a previous post.

No, Disney is cool.
They just shouldn't have made boring films like Bolt and maybe plan a sequel to Enchanted.

Actually Disney has been failing in quality lately.

Bolt wasn't a bad movie, and Enchanted doesn't need a sequel. Which makes "The princess and the frog" a big hope for many to see the classical quality disney again.

It may do some well to Marvel, actually I have never said the opposite...
But I care more for Disney. It bothers me to see that they spend 4 billions (!!!) on buying a company instead of making new creative projects - because after spending such amount of money, they will be less enclined to take any risk on their future projects and/or will reduce the budgets.

Actually I think the biggest problem seems to be that everyone expect different things from them now. Something due to the fact they have expanded in many different ways, which even for a big company like this is difficult to handle.

But who asked them to expand into these different ways in the first place? Everything was fine until late 90 / beginning of 2000, as you mentioned.

Anyway...wait & see, as usual. (even though I'm getting tired of waiting...)
