Lol, school =/= researching something for a character. That said, although school is necessary to a certain (seemingly ever-rising) level, does not mean it is particularly enjoyable (I for one am fed up with all the paper and ink, and want to actually do something, but there's not much that can be done with a Year 10 pass).

That's another topic though.

Yea, I don't really mind too much because it's something to lol at. Then again that's what failblog is for, so people do need to put at least some research/effort into creating things. However it's not always about drawings or RP's here because that lack of research can happen with anything here like art, fanfics, RP's, threads, whatever.

Once your parents cannot support you, if you neglected the free education you were offered, your life will not be well. You will not be able to get a home, food, and all of that. Teachers can be mean, but let's face it, some (Or alot, depends on your school) students are not nice to them, or they don't give them the respect that they deserve.
They are human, they get cranky. But yes, school does cut into free time, play time, but in this time, you need the knowledge to get things you need to live. |
I always reasearch my characters the best I can, (As if Dalmatian history, body, how it should work) things like that. I may not have the best, but I make my best effort. But the oddly colored characters are what bug me the most.

Too keep along with the conversation of this topic, I'm doing to throw in my pointless two bits and say that most kids your age probably thought/think this at least once in their lives. You'll see different though when you get older. 'Tis all I can say really.

More on topic however:
I always research for new characters. I wasn't very good at first about it. I feel I've gotten better though.
I do hours of research on breeds, their personality, history, and even names. It may take a while, but it is worth it.
Never really noticed it if someone else does that. Course I don't really pay much attention to the Fan Characters section.
