I don't have a problem with renders unless that's all the person does. No other graphics of any kind, just renders and lineart. Then that's just "COME ON DO SOMETHING ELSE THAT SHOWS A SPECK OF CREATIVITY." Yes, a renderer who thinks rendering is uncreative. At least I admit it.

I'm seeing more and more galleries with nothing but render and it makes me facepalm. I know I'm one of those hack "OMG WASTING SPACE" renderers that the fan artists giggle and sneer at, but I have other graphics too.

I try to balance out renders and graphics but let's face it, not many people are interested in graphics. They want colored over pictures of Balto and on a site as cutthroat as BS, you have to cater to the drooling masses to get one iota of respect. I try to come out with fun original graphics but it's hard and most of the time I get PMs asking for more renders.

Example: I had two threads. One was for requesting renders. The other was for requesting graphics of official Balto characters. My render thread went up to five pages. My Balto graphic thread? One post other than my frantic bumping.

If more people were willing to appreciate non-render graphics, the render rate would drop. But now most newcomers see it as "Instant Popularity: Just Add Red Balto" and that's irritating.

Well, you could report it. That feature has been there. But don't the mods have to check the image for it to get activated?....
The only reason I make renders is because I do not like my online drawings they cannot be clearly Recognizable - and I have no way to get my hand drawings online, other than that, that's all I use renders for.
I don't like a huge garlley full of them, in my The Lion King Source Fan images, I don't have rendes because I don't want to make the TLK section like the Balto's new Fan Image section. [Renders] And plus, TLK isn't as active.

Yes, the images have to be checked over by a moderator. As of currently, all the moderators have access to all the sections on the site, so that could be one of the problems of why these images are being activated.

I think the best solution would be to be able to add a filter, so that if you don't want to see renders, they wouldn't appear.
There are already different categories (and renders is among them), so it should be possible. I'll have to add that. (that's why I added categories in the first place...)

I think rendering is okay, although I wish i was better. I actually wish i had paint -.- GIMP is hard for me to use.
Some people prefer to render instead of draw like my friend Zion ^^ You guys should check out his images! he is absolutely amazing! <3

another reason why rendering should be kept:
What if you are on vacation and can't send art work for a trade or request or something? (a.k.a NO SCANNER) just render, the program comes with you on the comp no matter where you are. *shrug*

That is true, I cannot send any of my artwork, so I use renders.

Dat is a good point steet, they should have filters on this site so we can catch bad images before they ever uploaded

"Dat"?

Maybe we can add a filter for bad colloquial English, hmm?

Jersey- "mis-typing" happens to everyone.
Doesn't mean he does that all the time. -_-

Now back on topic:Specifically what defines a bad render? or have we discussed that already?
