My favorite character in the whole series is Dunder. Beside the fact that he's a Thembrian (those guys I love), he's a nice Thembrian. O__o Thembrians aren't really nice, I guess, but Dunder stands out from the rest for this reason. It just makes me wonder, what had to have happened for him to be the way he is? (Or what had to have not happened, for that matter? >>) I assume he had/has really kind parents, otherwise he probably wouldn't have turned out so nice. Maybe his parents were peasants, and Dunder somehow made his way up through the ranks? It seems like the Thembrian peasants are less threatening than the ones with power. Beside all of that, it makes me wonder what kind of person he would, or could, be - if it weren't for his position in life that's apparently written in stone. I dunno, it seems like he has potential, even if he isn't the smartest character. The guy deserves to have a little kindness shown to him, which, of course, almost never happens in the show. I have a tendency to analyze certain characters whom the viewers known close-to-nothing about.
Please forgive me for all this talk about Thembrians, but I have to talk about another favorite character of mine. My second favorite would have to be Warden Slammer from, "Gruel and Unusual Punishment." This guy is really interesting to me! XD He kind of has a sense of humor, and I wouldn't think that Thembrians even knew what humor was. O__o It worked out really well, in my opinion - "Gruel and Unusual Punishment" is one episode I will never get tired of. Ever line Slammer delivers is, to me, entertaining. XD The creators could have done a lot with Slammer, but they chose to give him a bit of humor - a playful side, if you will. Better yet, he's funny while still being "cruel and sadistic." But even so, he always struck me as a fair kinda guy. These were prisoners he was being intolerant with, so what do you expect? I don't know if he's the same kind of guy outside his job (probably pretty close), but it'd be intriguing as heck to know more about him.
Sher Khan is also definitely one of my favorites. Besides being intimidating, he's got a personality to match. He's stoic, humorless, and can be quite dangerous. He's just one of those people you don't want to mess with, you know? I despise big companies and corporations in real life, but this is the anthro world we're talking about. Sher Khan was a predator in, "The Jungle Book," and he's a predator in TaleSpin. What's kind of funny, also, is that nothing seems to frazzle him - he keeps his cool all the time, no matter the situation. XD I just like the character to due his intimidating, foreboding aura.

It was kinda messed up of him to do that, but I guess sometimes Baloo can be a jerk (like he was to Molly, in "Flight of the Snow Duck.") But then, no one's perfect. At least he kind of acted like a friend to Dunder in "Flying Dupes."

I'm not saying I don't like it when Baloo's a jerk - I was just stating the obvious: that he was being a jerk. XD But you're right - imperfect characters are more believable and make the show more interesting. I think it's also what makes Baloo an interesting hero. Too many heroes on television shows are near-flawless and have nothing interesting about them whatsoever, but Baloo's got a truckload of faults (he's lazy, has a weakness for money and good-looking girls, can be impatient, can be dense, e.t.c.) He's just funny and entertaining. =)

Dunder is one of my favorties too. He is such a nice guy, I have often wondered why he doesn't defect move to Cape Suzette, marry a nice girl and have some piglets. He has prior office work experience. I just think that he deserves something better than Thembria and Spigot.

I've never met anyone who's favorite character is also Dunder. =D I think he would actually like it in Cape Suzette, but I have a feeling he either wouldn't be allowed to leave Thembria, or that he'd feel too loyal to Colonel Spigot - even if Spigot does treat him badly. But that's a really cute idea - Dunder with piglets. Awww. ^_^ He really does deserve more. But I wonder if he would recognize something better for him if he saw it. It's so hard to say what his personal opinions of his life are, because all we ever see is the dutiful side to him, or the adventurous side (when he gets into an event with Baloo.)

I think it's obvious, but my fave character is that handsome leader of the air pirates, Don Karnage (roll the "r" ) He's both funny AND dangerous, clever (unlike all of the other air pirates), very classy, and I love his voice (many thanks to Jim Cummings!) If he hadn't got such a team of morons, I think he would have taken over Cape Suzette (and the world? ^^) a thousand times already!

Buffy Vanderschmere; I don't know why, I have this odd tendency of liking the lesser-known characters of a movie/show. But speaking in that same category I also like Ace London and Myra Foxworthy. Not much reasoning behind it - I guess I like their character designs is all (or maybe because I like wolves and foxes, as to why I like them, well...that's a whole nother discussion).
As far as episodic characters are concerned, Don Karnage, Kit and Wild Cat are all awesome. Wild Cat has my kind of strange sense of humor that I can relate to. Don Karnage is an awesome air pirate wolf who's ego happens to be his comedy. Kit is a smart little kid who flies around on that air board and does cool things as well (except episodes like Stormy Weather).

This is difficult, I have several favorites, well, let's start: Don Karnage (that's new) Mad Dog, Dumptruck, Rebecca, Kit, Molly, Wildcat, Baloo, Shere Khan, Spigot, Dunder and Myra.
I have no one specific reason why I like these characters (except for Karnage and Shere Khan). After all everyone has charisma, and that makes them unique.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, my favorite character would have to be Ratchet, despite - or perhaps because - the fact that he's an incredibly minor character. It's a shame, he could've had a 'Battle of the mechanics' with Wildcat. :>
I totally didn't even realize he existed until I saw fan art including him, and fell in love. Oh, the amount of Ratchets I've been scribbling since then...
Before that, Don Karnage was always my favourite, though Mad Dog subtly stole my heart as well. Hm... I guess that makes me a sky pirate supporter? ;o
(Not so) Fun fact: Mad Dog's German name is Brutus. I'm not sure if they chose that because of the relation to the word 'brutal' or because of the Brutus from ancient Rome who was close to Caesar, yet betrayed him - both fits in a way. Fortunately Don Karnage seems smarter than Caesar in that regard. :>
Forgive my rambling!

Even Baloo is not very nice to him (using him for his personal reasons, remember "The Golden Sprocket of Friendship") To be fair, he did feel kinda bad about it afterwards and tried to help him out. Disney has this way with 'jerk' characters, they actually usually make them more relatable and humanized than the normal more moral ones. That may be why Rebecca's reception is so mixed, she has realistic obnoxious flaws like pompousness, pig headedness and an occasionally childish overcompetitiveness with Baloo, but the large majority of the times it is less a case of her being knowingly spiteful or selfish, but is to convinced she is constantly just and knows the right of way, even her most horrendous plans she believes are for the good of the company and her methods for dealing with Baloo are in her own mind 'tough love'. On occasion she is justified to act this way, in some points however she is so deluded in her confidence she makes a complete *** of herself. Rabbit of Winnie the Pooh is a very similar character for that matter. It is largely for these realistic traits I like Rebecca a lot, she also has a good mix of both serious and sentimental and highly comical wacky traits (thanks partly to Sally Stuthers brilliant acting). It's all too common to make a Closer to Earth type for the male lead that has to provide completely for their hopeless blundering attitude, however Baloo and Becky's relationship is very two way, they both have lapses of sanity and blundering that the other can provide and foil, perhaps why they are seen as such a great couple by fans. Baloo naturally also comes on the high list, albeit also partly due to his Jungle Book role. I am mixed as to which one is my favorite (though I admit Talespin Baloo had far more hidden depths). It was nice to see Louie and Shere Khan in a different light too, though I think they were most alive in their JB forms. It's impossible to hate villains like Don Karnage or Col Spigot either.
