Lol. Sure. But, anyways, people should still use XP. I still got memories on that for other project works I have done.

What Togo said in his last point; Windows is a very stable Operating System; the only reason for its crashing so much is because its own users get careless with what they put into their system. Personally, I just use my PC sector for programs that otherwise wouldn't be able to run on my Mac half, and for tasks due primarily for school. My mac is where I do all the e-mail, internet surfing, and chatting.

For any of you who are wondering, a good [and free] anti-virus scan program for mac is called ClamXav. It's really reliable, considering you constantly update your virus definitions.

I have a Macbook, but I'm currently running Boot Camp, and I have Windows Vista installed on it. I know my way around both operating systems, but I'm not quite familiar with some of the ideal softwares that are adapt to it.

For anyone who has experience in Vista, can you please tell me why people hate it so much? If it crashes a lot, what causes most of these crashes? Also, what's a good [preferrably free] anti-virus to have on it? I only have the free version of some crappy thing that comes with the OS. If anyone has any intel, I'd like to know.

Ive grown up with a mac all my life. I have windows at my school and its so confusing.

Well, I've managed to downgrade. Not that I think there was a lot of clutter in my Windows sector, but I was able to get a copy of Windows XP Professional at my college computer store. I have more experience with this Windows OS than Vista, so it should be easier. Looks like everyone else is happy with it as well. What I'm most worried about, however, are the rumors of the discontinued support of future programs in XP within the next year...

I don't really think Mac is superior to PC; I believe each OS is designed for a specific function, though. What you like to do is probably the greatest factor in deciding which OS is right for you. I stick with what I know most, though. I think Mac is much easier to navigate through, and the dock reduces a lot of the desktop clutter you tend to see on a windows desktop.

Although I am grateful for both your responses, there was still that matter that made me the most hesitant about getting XP to begin with; the fact that Microsoft is planning to discontinue support for it within the next year...
