But the characters chosen would porbably be the ones that have a lot to do with Balto characters, for example something like a stand-out version of Balto's dad or something less usual like Kaltag's brother. Ones that actually interact a lot with the Balto universe, not just a random, cool-looking fursona.
I quote myself. "So I think it has to be a fan-work of an official character. (Though maybe fan children could work...But none really stand out and the likes of Kiona are popular enough.

And the other problems you mentioned are basically the same as what could happen now...
Nope. You can copyright a character but you can't copyright a pose in a picture or anything.

how do you define a fan-art worth featuring?
One which has a lot of effort put into it, and it should be evident. /Preferably/ one where the artist at least bothers to add shading or a background. (Unless they have a simple image editing program like Paint) Sorry, but I see lots of wonderful drawings of Balto characters that don't get nearly enough attention and because we can't suggest work (Understanably since Steet and the mods would end up with lots of suggestions) they'll probably never be featured. It's normally very EASY to tell when the person drew the picture as a
fan work or when they just scribbled down something quickly to get around the Balto drawing: Other drawing ratio. I was very surprised when I saw a copied (Or traced, we'll never know) Balto screenshot in the must see section.
My opinion remains the same.
