Fraya sighed. "I guess that would be the best place to start," she agreed. She looked up at the wolf and gave him a weak smile. She started to walked back to the human den. She turned back to the wolf and said, "By the way. My name's Fraya."

Raoul smiled. That's a very nice name, Fraya. I'm Raoul." After saying that he kept walking in silence for a while, he wanted to talk with Fraya but he didn't know what to say."Uhmm...Tell me something, Fraya. When you found that human den, what where you doing walking so close to humans? There is no need to..." He jumped in front of Fraya to stop her and sniffed the air. "Wait...do you smell that?...the crazy hunter's dog is near."

Rex finally saw the two wolves from behind some bushes, he howled to tell Jack where to go. He got out of the bushes and walked in front of the wolves, ready to fight until Jack arrived, and if they ran he would have to chase them to stop them from getting away again.

Raoul growled at Rex, he wasn't afraid of the hunting dog, Raoul was clearly stronger, it was the hunter the one that had an advantage over them they would never survive that shotgun the hunter used to kill his pack, they had to escape before the hunter came, but he knew that if they run the hunting dog wouldn't let them escape easily. He turned to Fraya. "The hunter will get here very soon, Fraya. He will kill you for sure if he sees you. You know the way to the human's den, right? You have to get there quickly, I'll be there after I take care of this mutt." He ran to Rex and bite his back.

Rex whined in pain, but when he got an opportunity he kicked Raoul and got free, they both backed away from each other, but they were still growling. Rex was feeling pain on his back, the injury wasn't serious, but he could feel some blood coming out of it and he knew he had to avoid receiving another attack on the same spot, or it was going to get ugly.

Jack got on Silver as soon as he heard Rex howling, he loaded his shotgun, he only had two shells left, so he had to be accurate, he was not going to let the white wolf escape...not again. The closer he got to Rex, the faster his heartbeat became. Revenge was close, so close he could almost feel it already.

Fraya started walking towards the human den, then broke out into a run. She felt terribly guitly leaving Raoul to fight off that dog. She slowed down, yearning to help in some way. She heard distant hooves running across the ground, and so got an idea. She ran towards the horse and the hunter. She shot across the ground right in front of them, in plan sight of the hunter. She kept on running, though, leading him away from Raoul and Rex. She knew Jack would follow her. As she kept running, she was looking for a place to hide. She finally came across the river which would evetually slow down into the creek she was in before. She ran along side it. It was deep and rough were she was. She looked for a place to cross and finally spied a log that laid on either side of the bank. She climbed on top of the fallen tree and slowly made her way across the slippery moss. She couldn't run and looked over her shoulder, knowing that Jack would soon catch up to her. She looked around desperatley as she kept on walking, looking for an escape from the death trap she had willingly wlaked in to.

"Yes, I'm fine," Fraya said. In truth, she wasn't at all worried about herself. "Are you alright?" she asked. She glared at Jack as he vowed to kill the both of them. "We need to get somewhere safe so you can heal." She looked around them, not seeing anything right away. "It'll be a bit of a walk. Will you be able to make it?"

BUMP!

Fraya nodded quickly. She helped Raoul to his feet. "Lean against me," she said to him. She glanced at the knife wound in his back. "That has got to hurt." She looked into the woods and took a few hesitant steps, always keeping her eyes open for some sort of shelter for them to hide in.

Haley pulled up in front of Jack's house in her blue truck, Sonya in the back. She spotted Jack sitting in front of his house, leaning on the outside wall. She looked at him for a few seconds before seeing the anguish in his expression. She quickly hopped out of the truck and hurred over to him. She looked him over and noticed his arm was covered in blood. She knelt down beside him. "Jack, what happened, what's wrong?!" she said in a rush.

"Dead?" Haley asked with surprise. She was so shocked that she missed some of what Jack said after wards. How could they all be dead? And by wolves? Wolves hardly ever got the aggressive. She was having a hard time believing it was a single wolf, but if Jack saw her that was enough for Haley. She started paying attention again when Jack mentioned a wolf attacking him. She stared at him, unblinking, until he had finished. "You can't go out there all alone," she said before he even finished his last sentence. "Those sound like some blood-thirsty wolves. What if they have a whole pack and you stumble upon them all alone? You're gun want be able to save you in a situation like that. You need a hunting party or... or at least Rex and Silver. Or-" She stopped herself before she even suggested going. She was good with her hands, and could handle a knife easily, but she had never fired a gun before. The coyotes and wolves tended to stay away from her herd so she had never had the need. All she would do was make a fool of herself.

"Don't you even think about suggesting that I leave you here," Fraya said sternly. She kept walking, ignoring the obvious implication Raoul had made. "That blood will attract coyotes and bears. You can barely walk, how do you expect to run or fight? No. I'm staying with you until you can get on you're feet again." She looked ahead determindly and saw a small den-like structure formed from two or three fallen trees and a shrub growing near the front of the entrance. "See, our luck is changing already."

"Well, I've been on my own for the passed year or so," Fraya explained as she laid Roaul on the dirt floor and sat down beside him. "I was just passing through when I found their shelter. I didn't know what it was until I saw the humans. I walked on but when I smelt the bear, I went back. There were two little ones and I didn't want to see them get hurt!" She looked at the ground, feeling like she was going to cry over the lost souls, even if they were human.

Haley sighed seeing the determination in Jack's voice and face. She looked at the ground at the mention of his death. "But, but you can't go at this all alone. What if you get hurt? You'll be a sitting duck for those wolves and if their was blood-thirsty as they sound, you're no match for a whole pack of them, You're gun is only so quick. What happens when you run out of bullets? Jack, take at least someone with you! It doesn't matter to me who."

"I'd go with you!" Haley blurted out. She quickly covered her mouth with her hand, knowing what his answer was going to be. But maybe she could convince him otherwisie. "Listen, Jack, I;m not that good with a gun but I'm good with a horse and medicine. At least let me follow from a distance so if anything happens to you I can be there with a first aid kit and a ride home. I'll even carry a gun with me if it'll make you feel better." She stared at him with seperate eyes, urging him to allow her to come alone.

Fraya looked up at Raoul and smiled, believing his words. Everything would be okay. It had to be. She sighed, as she realized the small flaw in his plan. "But that hunter will be tracking us as soon as he gets his arms fixed up. How are we supposed to pass him to get to his house with him on the alert for us?"
