Bic:// Bridget sat in a tree with the rest of her friends in their usual spot, a clearing in the woods right outside town. They were merely a mile away from the town, but it felt like they were much farther than that. The tree Bree was in was the only one in the clearing, a larger feild with a small stream running through it and running down the steep hill. It was the stream that gave her and her friends the gift. She was busy pulling the petals off a small purple flower, deep in thought. "So, what are we supposed to do with this gift, anyways?" she asked.

Wild Flower stood away from the four humans, grazing in the field. It was much like the meadow at the ranch, but here there were no fences. She didn't are try to run though. She loved her home and her owner far too much to run away.

Sonya sat loyally at the bottom of the tree Bree, her master, was currently sitting in. She glanced up at Bree when she asked her question, but stayed silent, feeling that the question wasn't for the animals to answer.

James sat on a rock, drowning his hand in the stream. "I don't know," he said thoughtfully. "Maybe something important is going to happen. Maybe we're just supposed to have this gift, but do nothing with it except being able to of pleasant conversations with our pets whenever we like."

Cali was curled up against James's leg, fast asleep. Or so she appeared to be. She was actually listening intently to the humans' conversation, and was also listening for Echo's return. She hadn't told anyone, or at least Cali, where she had went and, as usual, the motherly cat was worried.

"Well, we enjoy being able to talk to you," Sam said to James from his owner's shoulder.

Tango was busy chasing a small bettle, teasing it by giving chase but never quite catching it.

Jemimah had nodded at Bridget's question, as she was also curious about. She could now talk to animals. Along with her three friends, James, Bridget, and Bethanny. She looked over to her dalmation, Beau, and called him over.
"Beau, what are we suspossed to do with this gift?

Beau pranced over to Jemimah at his question. "What? Am I genious? How am I sussposed to know!?" Beau said, before prancing back to the place hwas at and layed down in the shade. He closed his eyes, and started to fall asleep. But he didnt, and quietly listened to the humans speak.

Rascal rased back and forth around the tree some of the teens were sitting in. He madly barked at them, as he wanted in the tree. "Let me in guys. Or you will feel the warth of Rascal!" The yellow lab said, expecting the humans to somehow get him up in the tree.

Baby rolled his eyes at Rascal. "Get over it Rascal. Its not like they would actully let you in there with your anoying yapping and squealing." Baby said, grinning. "After all, dogs are susposed to be loyal ande quiet when tehre owners are trying to do something!" He said.

Bethany looked at Baby as she leaped down from the tree and patted Rascal on the head, as he barked hapily as he was given attention. "Aww, go easy on him Ol' Baby." She said, glancing at Jemimah then back to Baby. She looked around her suuronding. "Hey, how far are we out here?"

Echo was gone all night, and just now was returning back to her owners. She had just hoped no one had noticed her not being there, as she slipped up to Cali and layed down beside her, acting like she had been there the whole time. "Hey, Cali, you awake? I just got back from-" She whispered

Champagne interupted Echo. "From where?!"

"Well, he was loads of help," Bree said with a smile at Jemimah, meaning Beau. Finally finshed tortoring her flower, she let it drop to the ground.

Wild Flower trotted up to Champagne. "Yes, where have you been?" she asked.

Sonya rolled her eyes at Rascal. "Rascal. Dogs can't climb trees, remember?" she said slowly as if talking to someone very young.

"Hey, Echo," James siad absentmindedly as she laid down very close to him. "Glad to see your back from your little adventure."

"And where exactly were you doing your little adventure?" Cali asked sternly, like an angry mother.

Sam flew over to Bethany's shoulder. "Looky who's back," he said, motioning towards Echo with his beak.

Tango stopped his chase when he noticed Echo lay down beside Cali. He scurried over to put a paw on her shoulder. "Yeah, where'd you go?"

Jemimah smiled back at Bridget. "Yeah Beau, your sooo helpful." She said sarcasticly.

Beau smiled. "Thank you. I like to keep my reputation as a helpful dog." He said, also sarcasticly.

Rascal rolled his eyes at Sonya. " I know that. But it would be so nice if I could get up there!" He whinned.

Baby joined to confersation on where Echo went. "Ya mutt, where did you go?"

Bethanny watched Sam fly by her, and watched him as he poined towards Echo.

Champagne looked at Wild Flower. "Echo, tell us now."

"Alright alright, if you must now, I'll tell." Echo announced.
"I found a dog fighting ring." She said simply.

Bridget smiled. but hers smile fell as she heard what Echo said. She quickly hopped from the tree and knelt down next to the black dog. "What were you doing there?" she asked.

Wild Flower looked at Echo with wide eyes, but didn't say anything. Bree had taken the words right out of her mouth.

"Shut up," Sonya hushed him, when she finally noticed everyone crowded around Echo. She trotted up next to the two horses. "What's happening?" she whispered.

"Echo, that place is dangerous," James scolded. "You could have been picked up by one of the owners."

"But she didn't, did she?" Cali said sternly to James. She turned back to Echo. "Yes, dear, why in the world would you got to such a terrible place?"

Sam watched Echo with his intense, black eyes.

Tango stared at Echo curiously, waiting to hear the story that was sure to be good.

"You mean, like, right now?" Wild Flower asked, looking around at the determined faces around her.

"What better time than the present?" Sonya asked. "Just point us in the right direction, Echo."

Echo nodded, before turning and begain to run towards the ring, but tryed to stay hidden from humans.
