Dev's jaw dropped "Shay?" he asked, in complete shock "thats you?" he asked, his eyes wide. "The girl I played board games with in 3rd grade? You've changed so much!" he exclaimed, still excited and surprised. "I'm so sorry I didn't recognize you! I went away for awhile remember...through 6th grade and...you've changed so much! I'm so sorry!" he babled.

Dev smiled at her, feeling terrible for not recognizing her sooner. "I'm so sorry!" he kept saying over and over. His eyes widened when she hugged him and he couldn't help but wrap his arms around her shoulders and hug her back. He rested his cheek in her hair and said "it was a mistake for me to leave, I had no idea what I had left behind! and I can't believe that I was so stupid to forget an amazing girl like you..." Dev said, remembering the time they had swung on the swings and Dev had told her about his older brother, how much he hated him and even the time that Dev stayed at Shay's house one night because he ran away from his own. "Wanna leave? right now?" he asked, he felt like ditching the first day of school to go catch up with Shay, but he didn't know if she would want to miss this.

Dev cocked his eyebrow and stiffled a laugh. "I bet he'll love the kiss!" Dev said and chuckled. "Lets go!" he said excitedly and hurried out the door, towing Shay behind his by her hand. He led her out to his sparkly sports car and whipped out his keys coolly. "Bet you've never ridden in a silver mustang converitble with black pins stripes have you?" Dev asked teasingly as he walked over to her side, opening the door like a gentleman. Then he walked over to his side, not even bothering to use the door and hopped in. He put the keys in the ignition and checked to see if the coast was clear for teachers.

"Hey!" a random kid said to Nate. "You're hot girlfriend wants me to give this to you!" the kid said with a snobbish tone to his voice. "Why you!" Nate said and lunged at the boy, pinning him against the lockers. "Don't ever say that about Shay again allright? You got it easy this time! you won't the nex time!" Nate threatened and snatched the piece of paper out of his hand. "Whoes the old friend!" Nate said outloud to himself before he was swarmed by his best guy friends.

"Hmm.." Dev thought "I'll come back and get it!" Dev promised and turned the key to his car. The engine purred to life and he backed out quickly before any of the teachers caught them. As soon as they were out on the road Dev turned to Shay "where to?" he asked.

"How about we go to the park?" Dev suggested, stopping at a stop light. "That way we can catch up without any distractions, no one should be out right now!" he said and looked at Shay.

Dev smiled and turned the corner when the light turned green. "I know this great place!" he said enthusiastically. "We're almost there!" he said, turning another corner and pulling into a parking lot. He stepped out of the car and walked over to Shay's side, opening the door for her. He walked up a small hill and revealed a huge, beatuiful lake.

"Yup!" Dev said and nodded "I come here alot..." he said, shoving his hands in his pockets as he looked at the water intently. The sun reflected off of its surface, making the water shiny, like it was dancing. He glanced at Shay and smiled before she grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the bench. The slight breeze felt nice and cool under the shade of the tree "aahh..." Dev said as he sat down.

"What do you mean?" Dev asked, looking down at his hands and avoiding her gaze. "When I came back in 6th grade or when I came back now?" he asked, averting his gaze to the water in front of them.
