first off Jersey, I don't know if the show's title says Tailspin where you're at.. but I'm sure it's supposed to TaleSpn(as in a story spin verus TailSpin as in a downward spiral

Yes, the correct spelling is "TaleSpin" or at least "Talespin"; and not "Tailspin" or "TailSpin". It seems like a good way to detect the real fans from the others

can you imagine Balto as a 1920's cargo pilot? LOL  .. I almost thought that when I first saw Wings of Change :p..

It would be very strange to see the Balto characters as "human-like" because they would be very different, at least with TaleSpin Baloo hasn't changed much physically (except for his clothes and the hands)
Talking about Wings of Change...The first time I saw the episode "From Here to Machinery", I immediately noticed the similarities between the two...Although (yes, I admit), that episode of TaleSpin alone is better than Wings of Change, which is supposed to be a film...

no worries Jersey :).. I sometimes forget whether it's supposed to be Tale Spin or TaleSpin :p..

on S.Khan.. I think he has the mentalilty of "nobody can pick on my "friends" but me.. kind of like a big brother type deal.. ;)

or maybe it's like I'll protect you from your enemies.. if you fear me thing.. *shrugs*..

well, I don't think you could "anthromorph" Balto since he's based on a real animal.. *thinks*..

oh man, I'm trying like crazy to remember the T.Spin episodes now.. but yeah, from here to machinery is a good episode.. it almost paralells the current economy.. 8) .. and Baloo's nightmare is just scary..

oh I think there was a wolfish T.Spin character in one of the episodes.. a gray wolf by the name of Ace London.. I think..I think the episode had to deal with the first Jet Engine or something..

and of course there's Don Karnage.. who's a fox/wolf thing.. :P

yes, I know of the other J.Book spin-offs/re-makes.. I was just mentioning the Disney ones since some people might be familar with that..

also, wan't to mention Chuck Jones's Mowgli's Brothers.. which is a short re-telling of the first chapter in the Jungle Book :)

Actually I'm unsure myself which is the good spelling between these two...Even Disney has sometimes "mispelled" it when talking about it, so...

Yes, actually "You got that right!" It's "Mach One for the Gipper"

All of the animals in the Jungle Book are based off of real animals seen in India, to wit:

- Baloo is a sloth bear

- Bagheera is a black panther

- Shere Khan is a Bengal tiger

- Kaa is an Indian python

- Akela and Rama (and Rama's mate and the pack) are Indian wolves

- Colonel Hathi, Winifred, Junior and the rest of the Dawn Patrol are Indian elephants

- King Louie is an orangutan

- the monkeys are probably Rhesus macaques

- the vultures are probably either Indian vultures or Indian "white-rumped" vultures

Ah yes...I seem to recall that one too! lol

oops. I meant that there was a real Balto :).. the animals and the story of Jungle Book is fiction ;)

it's kinda funny that Baloo in the Disney Film is grayish.. since he was supposed to be a brown bear in the Kipling Novel.. though I hated the fact they made him so bluish in Jungle book 2.. c'mon his name is Ba(uh)loo.. not Blue :p

I also wish the wolves were shown more in the Disney movie.. in the book the Wolves were much more developed, for instance Rama's (or Father Wolf in the book) mate's name was Raksha.. and the eldest of the pups was Grey brother..

btw, has anyone seen the platnium DVD for the movie? they had some pretty cool stuff there..

I also wish they had Tabaqui the Jackal.. he was crazy but extremeley dangerous.. ..

I'm still kinda surprised that some people think Bagheera is a girl..either they haven't seen the Disney movie.. or whatever voice actor was doing Baggy had a girl's voice.. :p..

but then some people claim Bambi's Flower is a girl too.. :?

I have posted an article about some Talespin promotional footage :

http://www.animationsource.org/talespin ... &id_film=9

One interesting part is this : there's a brief parody of...the Jungle Book. See this :
