Animation Source Forums

I have never seen Tale Spin (it came out about... 6 years before I was born, so I wonder why) and unless I was watching youtube videos or watching it illegally or buying of eBay, there's not much I could do to see it. And I don't really plan to do any of those three, so I'll probably be staying away from TaleSpin source.

I agree that a Lilo & Stitch source would've been awesome. A Spirit Source would've been good too, you know Dogs, Cats, Horses. It matches, lol.

But it's shame that Steet didn't choose something more popular, because I would've liked to be a part of TaleSpin source.

I think I've seen the Tail Spin series a loooong time ago xD But, it's very hazy..xD

Anyway, I feel like there's nothing wrong with the site. It's well done and neat (just like the other two). The only thing is that the population of the site will most likely never reach the same heights as BaltoSource. But since when does popularity matter anyway? ;D And as someone else has mentioned, it will give fans of the series a place to share their thoughts, creations and comments about the series.

Overall, I have no complaints about TailSpin Source. =)

I'm afraid that the old BS VS. TLKS war is going to start up again... only TSS [Talespin source] vs. BS vs. LKS.

Talespin does seem interesting and I have yet to see any episodes. Although steet could of chosen a more well-known and favored movie to have for another 'source like these:

Lady and the Tramp, Bolt, 101 Dalmatians, Brother Bear, Spirit or Bambi.

These ones, members have wanted to be made into a 'source.

We will just have to see what happens...

Somehow, I really doubt that problem would arise. Members are now accustomed to multiple sites, so, the wars are pretty much over. Unless of course Steet were to make an easily argued over site...

For example, if he were to create a Kimba fansite(which I highly doubt he'd do, by the way), then, yes I could certainly predict plenty of flame wars. But, wars over TSS? I doubt it. =P

Gah. I was expecting that kind of comments, but this is even worse than what I thought.

IF I MADE SITES BASED ON THE POPULARITY OF A FILM / SERIES, THERE WOULDNT BE A BALTO SOURCE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

Because, yes, Balto wasn't, isn't and probably won't ever become a popular film. Don't be fooled by the site pseudo-popularity, we're a real minority here.

It's even the OPPOSITE : I WANT TO MAKE SITES BASED ON FILM/SERIES THAT ARE NOT POPULAR but deserve it.

That's not totally true with TaleSpin, which HAS been popular back to early 90's. Just take a look at all the fansites that exist - there are as many if not more TaleSpin sites on the web as Balto fansites (although, they miss one big site - which is part of the reason I made it; I have understood that if TLKS didn't really work and was a mistake, that's only because lionking.org / TLKFAA exists)


And I really love the TaleSpin series. The more I watch it (still haven't seen all the episodes), the more I like it. Well then, blame me for sharing with others, what I think is the most awesome and underrated Disney series? I'm ok if you don't like it - but to the ones saying that : have you only watched it?? I can't understand how anyone liking Disney would not like it - but well, everyone is entitled to his own opinion.

I'm not a fan of Spirit - so I could not make a whole site myself entirely on it. BUT this is why I made up Animation Source in the first place - letting others make sites based on films that are not my personal favorites. It will come, but there are still a lot of things to work on, so you'll have to be patient.

And to think I'm making all these efforts only to get such comments...I'm spending hours and hours of my life working for FREE, even SPENDING money on the server, and for what? Gah. I'm not sure YOU deserve it.

WHAT? I think there's at least 10 times more things to be said about it, than what can be said on Balto! THIS IS A TV SERIES, which means there's around 20 hours of total length, around 50 different characters - and with episodes very varied, there's really a LOT to say.
Take a look at the Unofficial Kit Cloudkicker Homepage (http://cloudkicker.50webs.com/Editorials/ed_index.htm) : the owner has posted dozens of rants and reviews of the episodes, that are longer than most fanfics here!! An example :

So don't come telling me there's nothing to be said about this series - It's the absolute opposite!!

Steet, I do respect the fact that you spend so much hard work and time and money on this site, I think the majoraty of AS people do, except for the minorty that join only to anger and bully people. I must agree with Jersey in saying you overracted slightly. We have not complained about Talespin source, the majority of comments were positive and respectful, which was the entire reason I posted this first. I posted this thread to ensure a respectful discussion took place of the differing view points on your new addition to the site, I love this site and I prefer to make things respectful because of that love for the site. This is quite honestly my favorite site on the web. I most ask that you be respectful in your posts on this thread because, even though this is your site, its my thread and I posted it with the intent of a respectful discussion about Talespin Source.

Well this is the rant section, so that's what I'm doing : ranting, right?
I know I'm overreacting there, but I just can't stand hearing things like "this site doesn't have its place here" or "why did you choose THAT one, when there are lots of other -better- ones?" - you may do the same thing if you would have spent so much time working on it and seeing such comments.
I admit I read that topic a bit too quickly - that's what happens after a long, stressful day of work...

Anyway - I have only one last thing to say : BE PATIENT... (or just have some fun on the current sites too - I plan on keeping them for a LONG time!)

Guys, in Steet's defense, you shouldn't be looking a gift horse in the mouth. Just chillax and give TailSpin a chance. And Steet, have patience - not everyone has had the chance to see it.

I have not a problem with TaleSpin Source and I think that Steet has indeed done a great job on it. It's just a shame that I won't be participating in that section of AS because of reasons mentioned above.
