ooc// Yes ma'am!
Ruben shook his silky coat before sitting down to scratch at an itch behind his right ear. He felt so hopelessy lonely. There was nowhere he belonged, and no one he belonged to. He was sick of the heavy stereotyping that went on in the town and cost so many dogs a home and a family. He started sniffing around some bins (ooc// or 'trash cans' as you call them in America xD), searching for some atleast half-decent food. He eventually knocked one over, watching its contents spread onto the ground. He browsed through the available pickings, and found some edible leftovers. With a satisfied smirk, he snapped them up hungrily.
Jaspen was wandering down a lonely street, chewing on some leftover jerky he had found. It was giving his jaws quite a job, but atleast it gave him something to do. He then spotted Ruben in the alley, his head ducked inside a knocked over trash can. He made his way into the alley, causing the pup to jump a little when he spotted him. "Hey kid ... you should really be careful about when you knock these things over. Humans get unusually stressed about their rubbish."
"Jeez! Don't go sneaking up on people like that," Rube muttered, not very happy about being caught off-guard. "I can tell you're not from around here by the accent. Maybe humans treat their trash differently here."
"I've been here long enough to know how humans treat certain things. Including us street dogs. I haven't been a street dog for long, but I do know as much as I need or want to know."
"That's not really any of my concern ... and to be honest, I don't really care. Get out of here. This is my alley."
"The alleys belong to the humans, kid," Jaspen murmured. "Everything does, and always will. Unless we do something about it." And with that, he was gone, leaving Ruben with that thought, and to dwell on what exactly it meant.
