Lol. They are. P=

Here we either have fairs which have rides, games, food stands and fireworks at the end... or a laser show at the end, there's one with that somewhere in Devon/Somerset.

Or we have carnivals which are usually just a long parade of floats and people dressed up. I do that every year - so much fun.

Or there's festivals which are often a few days long which show off the local flair a bit.

What I enjoy about carnivals is the food, like caramel apples, which I haven't had for a while.

Wow, this topic has really picked up steam.
Conay --> Ooh, depending on the kind of carnival, that would be a nice touch.
diego --> Hmm, those are fun.
UK --> Local flair fits pretty well with what I had in mind. Either that or a traveling carnival, probably the latter.
Jersey --> Whoa, study much? lol (seriously, though, you sounded like Eugene Meltsner)
pullman --> There are kits so you can make your own.

Me am smart, George! Yes me is! "C-A-T"...smart! Me look at duh books...like duh pret-ty pictures. Duh huh! :rabbit:

Incidentally, I had to look up Eugene Meltsner. I have not read Adventures in Odyssey, nor do I have any interest in it (just in case that happens to come up...lol). Not being an evangelical Christian, I was at a loss for the reference...but now I see what you were getting at, thanks to a quick search on the net.

(More edumacational stuff coming shortly...lol)

lol I could have told you about Eugene.

My favorite games at the carnival is the watergun shooting contest and knocking down bottles.

Well, but you didn't. And given the material, I reiterate that I would not have been interested beyond a basic description of the character as it applies to your comparison.

As if I could go any farther on here.
You'd probably like some of the dialogue involving him, though.

(discussing a job difficulty)
Eugene: I believe it's more a matter of personalities.
Connie: Yeah. I have one and he doesn't.

(stranded on the road)
Bernard: Most people write signs like "Stop, need help."
Eugene: Well yes, but that seems so demanding and unfriendly.
Bernard: Right, so you wrote "Please cease your driving. Assistance required. Thank you."
Eugene: I think it explains the matter without undue coersion.
Bernard: Eugene, these people are driving by at 80 miles an hour. They'd have to be speed-readers just to see the "Please."
Eugene: Not to be contrary, but I've noticed sticking your thumb in the air hasn't been too effective.
Bernard: People understand a thumb in the air a lot better than a wordy sign.
Eugene: My sign has as many words as it needs to explain the situation.
Bernard: Yeah, well so does my thumb.

Come to think of it, I should invite SilverKia in here if we're going to discuss the show. She loves it. But, back on topic... carnivals.

Jersey --> Thank you for the era advice, but for the purposes I have in mind, I think I have all the historical background I need.

Those type of Games are a total waste of money.

I mean, do you actually win anything? You pay £1, pick up a water gun, spray a box which makes it look like a puppet show!
