Well, he got the crazy part right. Rook must have certainly gotten around. Tho Pawn still had no idea who the heck this strange long-tailed canine was. "So does that mean you know who I am?"

Shadow glanced away for a moment before looking back at her; "Well, I don't really know either of you by name, but I recognized your voice as soon as I heard it," he said with a quiet laugh.

"I'm sure you've heard of us," she said. "My brother is Rook, and I'm Pawn. I'll save you the guessing on my other brothers' names. They're Knight and Bishop." Everyone ALWAYS tried to be clever when trying to guess their entire family's names. It was quite obvious once you got the pattern.

Shadow nodded and wagged his tail; he walked around Pawn curiously, swaying his hips back and forth; he inherited his characteristic saunter from Jenna. He hoped that Pawn, considering how biting she seemed to be, would refrain from saying anything about it, but he doubted that this would be the case.

Of course she noticed this. She noticed everything about almost everyone that could be made fun of. "That's an interesting strut you have there. Is that a limp from a fight or do you have something shoved where the sun don't shine?" She said it monotone, like she usually spoke. No snicker came from her mouth, but on the inside she was snickering.

Shadow forced back a laugh; "No, that's something I inherited from my mother," he said, going around to Pawn's tail and giving it a sniff. His own tail lay in front of her forepaws as he sniffed her to check out her scent.

She nonchalantly stepped away from Shadow. "Got a problem with your sniffer, chump?" she asked, getting rather annoyed with his invading her personal space.

Shadow winced as Pawn stepped on his tail when she moved away from him; "No, I'm just trying to get to know you," he explained.

"What do I look like??" she asked, angrily. Did she look like some kind of Neanderthal dog to him or something? What about her implied to him that she wanted him to sniff her like that? She wondered.

Shadow retracted his head hastily in response to Pawn's tone; "Sheesh, it's how dogs introduce themselves, ain't it?" he said with a roll of his eyes.

"Yes, and its about as pleasant as getting licked by a gigantic moose." She rolled her eyes. What a tasteless greeting that was.

Shadow tilted his head curiously; "Why do you seem to have a problem with everybody? I'm just trying to be friendly," he said, whisking his tail into the air and letting it fall to the ground again.

"Well first off, I'm never discriminating, second off, I just don't want my *** sniffed, we clear on that?" She asked, getting all up in his grill.

Shadow tried to back off, but tripped on his long tail and landed on his back; "Yeah, yeah, I got it, just don't hurt me!" he whimpered as Pawn stood over him.
