Keane looked at the female. Something about her appealed to him. Compared to him she was small, but her eyes held so much in them. He twitched his ears and flicked his tail. " Your lucky girl. I'm kind enough to left go back to your home with a warning. Some within my pack wouldn't be kind enough to let you go home without a scar or injury. And I don't want that thought hanging over me." He told her. He didn't want to leave for some strange reason but he didn't what this dog to get hurt, even if he didn't know her. " Go home now, the forest is no place for a dog, like the streets are no place for a wolf. I'm sure your family must be worried." he said as he half turned away. But Keane couldn't bring himself to turn completely away. Her wonderful brown pelt and voice seamed to hold him stead-fast.

Kotori listened to the wolf's advise, but held a smirk on her face saying she couldn't believe him. "Hold on here!" she interrupted him, "I'm half wolf! Can't you smell it?!" She took a small step back from the wolf, afraid she was yelling too much. She cleared her throat, then sat down, waiting for an answer.

Keane breathed in her warm scent once more. Sure enough the scent of wolf blood in her was clinging to her pelt. " That is true enough I can see. But you have been raised with dogs. Their scent as well as human clings to your fur with a grip that a hundred days in these woods couldn't wash off." Keane said. His ears twitched. He looked around and searched the air for another scent beside theirs. It was only a rabbit.

Kotori sighed as he said all this. "Yes...I know..." She said depressed. She hated being half german shepherd. She watched his sniff around. "What are you doing?" she asked, then lifted her nose to the air also, and took a whiff of air. Sh ecould smell a faint scent of rabbits, but more of the dog. "Soo...What's your name?" she asked silently, hoping he would respond, instead of running away.

Keane didn't reply right away. He wasn't sure if he should tell her his name or not. But his firm stand was broken when he saw the unsaid plea in her eyes. He looked away and scanned the forest as he replied. " My name is Keane, son of Jay the leader of my pack. One day all this land shall belong to me when I take my place as leader of the pack." he told her. His eyes darted towards her. " Now, what is your name girl. I can't call you girl forever. I often patrol these parts, and I would like your name in case I ever find you here again on my patrol. If you should ever dare to trespass again that is." Keane said. A soft wind began o blow, rippling his fur as he stood there waiting.

"U-Uh...Kotori." She said. She had lost her track of thought while looking at the dog. She saw the dog's fur get ruffled by the breeze,then her coat. "That feels soo good, doesn't it?" She aksed in a friendly tone. She sat down on the snowy ground, licked her paw.

Keane nodded. " The breeze always feels best in the early days of spring. But soon the summer heat will come to melt the remaining snow. And with it will come the birds and larger prey. Not to mention the dogs of your town try to come into our territory more in the summer." Keane said. He had turned away completely to hide a smile from Kotori. He looked at her over his shoulder. " Tell me why did you stray into the woods alone with no purpose on this day no less?" he asked. Keane's voice was slightly softer this time then when he had first spoke to her. Tring as hard as he could Keane tried to stop looking into her eyes. But they held him there, he didn't know why. It was a feeling he himself had never felt. And he couldn't tell if it was a good feeling to have, or a feeling that could get him in trouble with the pack.

Kotori had a puzzled look on her face as he said this so wise and majestically. She was pulled into a trance from his beauty, but was quickly pulled out as she heard the question he had asked. "Umm...I-It was your smell...It drew me in enough to where I couldn't stop myself from checking it out." she replied. She blushed after she said this. She quietly pawed the muddy ground with her short, clipped claws.

Keane turned away again. A soft, low, and ruff chuckle escaped his muzzle. " Smell is a powerful thing. Only minutes before you came into my woods, I too was breathing in your scent. No need to feel embarrassed. Unless I wish to use this as a form of blackmail just in case for what ever the future brings." he said as he flashed her a sly and slightly cocky grin for a moment. His eyes glimmering. He turned away again. " What the future holds for both me and you little Kotori, will unravel itself in time. Dont stray to far from this area of the western border. I'll let you come to this part when you want. Only if my scent is fresh that is. I wont have anything happen to you hanging over my head." Keane said softly as he disappeared into the brush. He was gone for a minute or to before he came back out, from a different spot, closer to Kotori. His heart pounded ageist his furry chest. " Becareful. The forest holds both wonderful surprises." Keane said as he clawed away some dirt and brush away form Kotori's paws reviling a small purple flower beginning to grow. " And deadly secretes." he whispered moving to show the paw print of another animal, one with large claws. Keane disappeared into the woods. Forcing himself away from her.

Kotori cocked her small head to the left as her said his statement. She thought the way he talked was wise, handsome, and intelligent. She didn't noticed him jump into the bush for a minute, but when she did, she craned her neck to see if he had ran away. Nothing happened for a minute, until he jumped out closer to her. She gasped at his appearence, and took a step back as he pawed at dirt, and showed a small violet colored flower. He showed her a rather large pawprint, which made her wonder to even go near the woods any longer. "Soo?...Whose print is this?" she asked, going off topic.

Keane looked back. Some paw prints would forever stay imprinted in the soil, like a fossil. " Many creature live in this forest. That paw print is my fathers before he became leader. His muzzle and pelt is scarred from many fights. He is fierce to enemy's and will kill to protect our pack. But that print is from long ago. Before his once deathly fierce spirt calmed down. But even he wasn't the most feared in the forest."
