Togo, that sounds like a great plan. If anyone is interested in having Balto as a digital download, go to my topic by either following the link I put in an earlier post, or look for the topic titled "Balto on the iTunes Store" in this forum.

Discontinued? And it's not a mistake from Amazon, other stores report the same thing :

http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v5_search ... _refined=0

It seems Universal's other animated films are still selling. (Land before time, An american tail)

This may seem like a bad news, but this could also mean they have something in mind.
Disney often does it with their DVDs so that a future release has more "impact".
Maybe they're just planning to make a 3-DVD pack?
But maybe I'm just being too optimistic, and they just ceased producting units because it wasn't profitable. (wouldn't understand why though)

Anyway, I believe the DVDs will still be able to be found for a long time, at least in "used" conditions.

I don't know if this has any relation with We're back being finally released on DVD...

Well that could be true, production on Balto DVDs could've stopped to make way for We're Back. Though I certainly hope Balto's not gone for good, the homemade VHS recorded 13 years ago will die on me eventually.

Do you have any way of converting your tapes into a digital file, or are you stuck with just the tape?

Nope, I'm stuck with a VHS! Unless I could mooch onto someone.
I wouldn't want to convert that copy anyway because it's so old and most of the quality of the sound and picture is lost. If I'm going to get a DVD copy, I'm starting over.
Balto has been showing on the HBO channels recently, so I could start there! (Hint, hint to all other Balto fans!)

You can always find the Balto DVD's (all three) on Ebay. I bought all three of my DVD's from there, and they were all brand new, and unopened
