Shines Like Blood, Book 7

I just put her death because I couldn't think of anything else...

The sounds of battle fell to complete silence as the fighting soldiers froze and watched as Kiona rose to her paws and glared around the blood-stained clearing. Her eyes fell apon the those who betrayed her and those who stood by her side through all this. Some of her friends and family where dead now, all of them at least terribly injured. All because of the one wolf who stood before her. "Have you had enough yet Kiona? Are you ready to give in and join me?" The wolf asked.

Kiona looked up at her and bared her teeth into a deadly snarl. "If you even think I'm going to join you, you will be dead before you can scream for mercy, Aleu!"

Aleu growled and imitated her sister's growl and jumped. Kiona dodged out of the way and tried to grab Aleu's neck. Soldier jumped out of the way as Kiona flung Aleu into the crowd. But as quick as she hit land, Aleu was on top of Kiona. She bit into Kiona's ear and tore the flesh off the side. Kiona felt weak from fighting Aleu's supporters and she couldn't keep this up. But a vision of her family dead, including her,flashed through her mind. Kiona snarled again and grabbed Aleu's ankled with her jaws. She dragged her sister through the clearing and dropped her just below a tree.

Before Aleu could get to her paws, Kiona grabbed her neck and squeezed. She missed the bone and let go when she felt Aleu slide from her grip. Aleu reached for Kiona's neck, a little akwardly and was flipped over by Kiona. The whines and growls from the wolves beside them grew louder as Aleu pinned Kiona to the ground. "I've been waiting so long for this!" Kiona said to herself as she flipped over and sent Aleu into the dust. She was stronger then Aleu but not faster. Aleu grabbed her neck and pulled the flesh from the side. Wincing, Kiona slithered away and grabbed Aleu's muzzle in her mouth. She squeezed until a loud crack sounded from her paw and she let go. Aleu squealed and fell over, feeling weaker.

Kiona snarled in her sister's face, "Aleu, if only you had been different, you would not have ended up like this!" Kiona grabbed her neck and squeezed, the blood splattering her muzzle and chest. She squeezed harder and felt the spine under her teeth. Taking one last moment, she bit down harder then ever before and felt the bone crack under her teeth. Aleu barely had time to wail out before she hit the ground, dead. At that very moment, from all sides, Kiona watched in slow motion as hundreds of wolves and dogs jumped at her.

Feeling so weak, she sank to the ground and heard a lone bark sound from the wave of attackers. Kiona looked up to see the crowd part and a massive Great Dane walked through the line. He glared down at Kiona, for she had been his first love until he turned against her.

"I'm sorry Kiona that it has come to this, but may you slay the Junaan many times in Hell. I will meet you there again one day" The Dane said as he grabbed Kiona's neck in his jaws and squeezed until the spine broke. A lone tear fell from Kiona's eye and she fell to her side. "I will kill you again Aleu, however many times it takes. You will be dead under my jaws one day." She said as she toke her last breath and fell silent.
