If it was the same people who did Balto 3, with hopefully the same voices as far as the main characters or a darn good replacement, maybe one or two good songs (not to go overboard or too cheesy, something like what Jenna sang in Balto 3), a plot and/ or subplots that are different from other Christmas specials, and it keeps to the meaning of Christmas, sure its a good idea for Universal to look at, but all the stars have to line up for it to work. The last thing we want is for people to look at the Balto series and look at it as a gimmick to give NBC Universal more money and to work the Balto series to the ground. Right. Like C.S. Lewis said when asked why he was stopping at seven Narnia books, it was better to stop while the ideas were still coming freely and people were interested than to keep on going until his readers and his inspiration were completely exhausted.

After An All Dogs Christmas Carol, I'd say there's a 100% chance guarantee or your money back I mean with songs like this, who could say no? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9Mc_PqK ... re=relatedMy God... *rubs temple*

Well, like almost everyone has said, it depends. I hate re-tellings of awesome Christmas stories, like A Christams Carol. I ahve to say that I don't like the ADGTH Christmas movie, but c'mon, it wasn't THAT bad. (Or maybe it was, but so?)
I'm working on a Christmas story for Balto, taking parts of stories I've heard an my OWN ideas, and creating A Balto Christmas Tail. I'v ebeen working on forever, with no ispiration. But now, I just got it.
So, if Balto had his own little adventure within Christmas time, that would be cool, but a whole present-y gift-y love-y stuff thing is just stupid.

Seriously? Why don't we have Santa threaten to cancel Christmas for the umpteenth time and then need Balto to lead his team of reindeer because Rudolph had to have his nose replaced with one of these http://www.energystar.gov/ia/partners/p ... bulb.5.jpg And was having more self esteem issues Then Balto can be the hero for the 4th time in a row (three times more than he actually was, mind you) and have an "I SAVED CHRISTMAS" story to tell his grandkids. I think the only way this would ever work is if Christmas was the setting, but not the purpose. Like, its Christmas time but a completely different conflict is occurring. Like what a Christmas it would be for the Balto family to have if he was sold to some guy for big bucks and they had to get him back. But even that would be lame. Aleu and her wolf pack would return for a cameo and surround the guy ready to take Balto away, and its only then when he realizes his mistake of taking away their town hero. Then Balto and Jenna can have another half-hearted reunion like in Balto 3, and the last scene of the movie will be when Luk finds a girlfriend and the movie fades out to a Hannah Montana song. Now that's a blockbuster.

Now that's a blockbuster. LOL! Oh god, that was classic. Fades out to a Hannah Montana song XDD (I actually like Hannah Montana, but LOL) But I agree with you, if there were any sort of continuation on the Balto series, a prequel would be the only thing that I think would be workable. In other words, my answer "NO".

In this case, the hypothetical scenario would involve Christmas packages for one or more kids being hung up in some inland town along the usual mail route, and the team has to go and get them, and bring them into Nome by Christmas Eve. (Or even better, the packages andn some other mail are on a steamship bound for the Nome area, but due to the Bering Sea being frozen over, the ship can only make it so far. The team actually has to drive out onto the sea ice to meet the ship, get the packages, and work their way back (going through some perils on the sea ice, perhaps having it crack and break up a bit), and then back onto land to continue the journey...having adventures along the way (perhaps even meeting some disadvantaged Eskimo family out in the wilderness or something, and the driver (musher) wants to do some good deed for them which also involves the dogs somehow.
THAT would seem a very workable story. And then maybe extra story elements could be folded in, along the lines of the suggestions DT and Cat made (about Balto's dad and then a reunion with Aleu maybe...say, for instance, Balto's dad is a member of the mail team, but he doesn't realize it until well into the journey, and some emergency brings them together and into awareness of each other after some initial conflict between them; and they somehow meet Aleu's pack out hunting or something during the journey). Exactly, but would we even be able to count on that xD Plots like that would work. Cuz at that point its less about Christmas, and more about surviving and getting the mission done.

That sounds almost the same as Balto but without the anti-toxin and the whole Balto has to go looking for the lost team...but most likely better than what Universal would come up with. I had no idea people were this adamant about the idea of a Christmas-themed Balto movie
