What's with all the hate towards Underdog? Well, sure, it's not the GREATEST dog movie out there, but Bolt, like a lot of movies, is lacking. It lacks storyline, it lacks development in scenes. It's not the best movie either.

Bolt's about a lost dog trying to find his way home(SOO unoriginal) and on the way realizes that what he thought was real isn't(SOO Toy Story).

Underdog is about a misfit dog who gains super powers when an experiment goes wrong. He's stuck between a dilemma: give up his powers to save the world or keep them to make his owner happy.

I don't know about you, but I haven't seen that in anywhere but a bit of Cats & Dogs.

Bolt had better quality graphics, humor, but Underdog had better quality storyline. So which is a little more important in a movie?

I agree completely. I think, in my personal opinion, that Underdog was better. Not exactly sure why, but mostly because of one reason: I can watch Underdog a million times over, but Bolt.... I've only seen it ONE time. Never twice. It just isn't the movie I like to see over and over again, and that's usually what I tend to do with most movies.

Underdog, as far as story goes, Underdog actually has superpowers, Bolt is just an actor, however, Bolt is very cute.

Bolt cause a dog in animation is much better then a dog talking in real life, though it would be cool if they spoke. Although I've never seen Bolt, I have heard of it.

Baltoluv: Then that's not a very fair statement. You're judging without having even WATCHED the movie you're judging.

I say if you're going to compare two things, movies in this case, make sure you have something to back up what you said. If lawyers/people in court didn't have evidence or anything to back up their claims, the judge and jury would never, EVER take their claims into consideration.

Granted, this is no where NEAR as serious as court, it should be followed the same way: back up your answers, and do your research(in this case, watch both movies) before you make a statement like that.

And for those who say Bolt has better graphics, of course it does. Bolt was made in 2008, Underdog around 2007, I believe. Sure, that's only ONE year, but in one year, a lot changes, especially in a fast-paced world.

And to back up my statement as to where Bolt is lacking, not only does the story steal from Toy Story and use the unoriginal idea of a lost dog and a sad boy/girl who lost their dog, and their "courageous story to reunite". Oh please, if I wanted to watch THAT, I'd watch Lassie Come Home, at least that's classic.

And Bolt also has some problems in scene development. One ENTIRE scene on how hungry Bolt is? A bit much, to me. And some scenes are chopped short and would've made a great movie for older kids, who like stories with more background; then there were those scenes that feel like they drag on and on and will never end, as I said before, the begging scene with Bolt happens to show that rather well.

And another thing: so many serious and thoughtful moments felt rather ruined to me when they added rather stupid jokes in. Sure, it's a kid's movie, tell me something new, but it's such a let-down when an emotional scene is mixed at what would've been it's BEST point(climax, I guess you could say), and then there's one stupid, "humorous" joke thrown in. Drives me NUTS.

And just so you know, I like the movie Bolt, I've watched it more than once, not in a row, but more than once. And yes, it's a great movie for YOUNG kids, but teenagers, or pre-teens going to watch it, if they have some sense it what a movie SHOULD have, can see Bolt lacks far more originality than Underdog.

Ya know, I agree there too MHP. They have made scenes for Bolt that would have been GREAT for the movie but they cut them off cause they wouldn't be good for a kid's movie  Sucks cause they would've made the movie ten thousand times better and more original. Take a look at these:
(these both have voiceovers of Bolt plus the meat guy in the first one and Mittens in the second so...)

Saying I havent seen the production WOULD be a lie. I have seen trailers to the Bolt movie.
