I just get sick of people who think they're above the rules, or that the rules should be changed to suit their own personal ends, without looking out for the best interests of this site or its members. For example... Swearing: I could write a book of the excuses I've read. "Oh, the site's language filter didn't censor it." Or, "It's just a word, grow up." Excuse me, but there are a lot of people this site who don't want to have to put up with a non-stop stream of obscenities. Mostof the time, you know if it's a swear or not, and usually if you didn't know, someone will tell you. If you're mature enough to be that independent when it comes to what you can or can't do, you should be mature enough to be a little sensitive to the needs of a multi-age site. On the other hand, if something absolutely has to be said using curse words, ask yourself if it really belongs here in the first place. In my book, the main outcome of swearing is to prove that the one talking has a brain too small to hold a better vocabulary. Sex Talks: This is always a fire starter. Again, this site is for a lot of different age groups, and usuallyI find with a little asking around that there are minors on the site when that kind of talk is going on. Parents worry all the time about their kids coming across twisted stuff online, and even a lot of grown-ups, including me, do not want to come to a website about Balto or the Lion King, and find a bunch of trashy stuff. Now I'm OK with romance in proper boundaries. My main characters are parents, and it doesn't take a genius to figure that out. But nobody has the right to go putting questionable stuff where kids, or even adults with a good working conscience, might come across it unawares, especially not the shoutbox. The internet has too many sites already that are dedicated to that kind of material. If you've got something against using them to discuss it or make crude jokes, why the heck are you doing that in the first place? Insults: Again, a bigger pain in the neck than a vampire plague. Now I make a lot of wisecracks, but if you say something with the goal of hurting another person, you're in the wrong. That's this site's policy, it's basic manners, and it's just common sense. Sure, sometimes you've got to say something that's a little negative. "You're making no sense," or "that drawing wasn't the best I've ever seen." But nine times out of ten, if you use a little IQ, you can find a gentler way to say it at the very least, like, "can you be a bit clearer on that? I'm not quite making the connection here," or "Well, nice work on that drawing. But have you considered..." and then explain what you think is off about the drawing, whether it's that Balto's nose is too big or that Jenna's too fat. It usually sounds more intelligent, too. Think about it: "You've put a lot of work into this, but why is Balto's tail so skinny?" sounds a lot more thought-out than, "Oh you big dope! His tail looks like a stupid twig!" See? I don't entirely buy into the creed of "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything." Sometimes you gotta say something negative (nobody hears their docctor say, "You have canfcer," and goes, "Oh, wasn't that the nicest thing to say"), but if you're saying something bad, it should be for a good reason.
Oh, and Whisper, where'd you get that signature? I keep seeing them around.

I was being polite...this the VERY kind of thing WolfWhisperer is talking about...and clearly, it happens in the forums too. There was no need or call for you to react with that sarcasm. I was not using the rolling eyes thing at ya, I was using it to suggest the absurdity of this topic(ya know why I feel that way by now). Gosh, here I am trying to not fight with ya anymore but every time I refer to either WW or the topic itself ya take it as if I'm talking to ya.

Perhaps he wouldn't if you would be more careful with quoting ;] Anyway, do get back on-topic, please (and on-topic does not mean that you ought to fight and bicker here).

I can't really agree with you more. Also there are some individuals who claim even with the rules that they "can do whatever they want".It is them who mess up this site and cause so much chaos in the SB that there claims to be.It may become"Messed up Beyond all Repair" unless more strict methods come into play.
