Stark winced, but replied "I'm fine". Then he got up, and alked over to the lake, to go for a swim. He swam to an island in the middle, with flowers all over it, out of sight of the shore. Next to the island was a waterfall.

Stark's ears pricked up, and he thought he heard flapping in the distance. But he could not be sure, so he ignored it. His thoughts were a jumble. Was Alice once human? Was there a way for him to go back to being human? And the question troubling him the most at that moment - had he really been human at one time, or had he imagined it all, had it been a dream He shook his head subconsciously, why couldn't he have wings too? He knew that it would not have mattered if he had had wings, for he lost control around the humans.

In the end, he decided he would ask Alice about the humans in the morning - but he would have to take an approach not to sound like he killed them. He had meant to go off the island, but he fell into a deep sleep, which it would be hard to awaken him from.

It was the morning, and Stark swam back to the shore, cold stiffening his limbs, he lumbered awkwardly over to Alice, hoping not to wake her. He stumble, though, and landed beside her - in a tangled heap of legs and tail. He looked up from his tangled body, and his vision was filled with Alice's Purple eyes.

He got up quickly, embarrassed. "Err, oops, err, sorry" He stuttered, before regaining himself "Oh, I was going to ask you something" He prepared himself. "In your travels.." He paused, trying to choose his words carefully "Did you see, or go near any humans? And when you did...." Now he had no idea how to put this part. "Did you... feel... normal around them? Like you would around other creatures, like birds?"

Alice was awake, her eyes now filled with a deep sadness. Her left wing covered parts of her face "I did, once, humans made my eyes burn,my teeth bare,my vision gone, all gone"She said, her tone held her sadness "I never got near them again, never will,I'm scared of myself sometimes to think about it"Her eyes turned pinkish, her fire blue and red mixing almost fighting for the emotion Alice grasped inside.

"Hmmm...." said Stark, pondering about this. Maybe all of them were like this. "I went near them once too. They were ship humans, but then...... Well, There were five of them, but none will ever sail back to where they came from now." He said, trying to keep his sadness out of his voice. He started to say something else "I don't know why......" His voice trailed off, as he saw her tail flame changing colours.

Mesmerized, he lay down and stared at it. It changed! The flame flickered, the reflection of the flames danced in his eyes, but he felt strangely calm. like he was in a trance. He didn't know why he was so amazed by it, but he could not help staring at the flame. Eventually, he tore his eyes away, forgetting completely that he had been about to say something.
