Wasn't it April fools of '06? Because I think it was my first April Fools here. And if it was before UK joined and she joined in May of '06. Yeah, that sounds right. :}

I remember when I become friends with UK. I think she was one of the first people here that I really connected with, too. I did the whole (what you guys now think is lame), send a PM and being like "Hey we should be friends. :}" XDD

Oh, and I remember when I ate Suka. :} SOmeone came on the ShoutBox asking where Suka was so I told them I ate him. Theeennn everyone started doing that. ._. And now everyone just "-noms-" one another. LOL.

Sure was the golden years of the fandom, when it was still fairly fresh, and new faces came in, but they weren't typically out to get the most attention, or solely on the mission of causing drama, and headaches.

Yup, I sure do miss those days, when every site was active, and each had it's own contribution, none of them had the same information, pictures, or discussions. And they tried to help one another out once in a while.

Well, back then there weren't preteen members, only 17+ and older (yourself, Fluke, Silver Huskey, SimbasGuard, Greykitty Steetboris, CL, Radar, Silver Wolf, and many others). I was one of the youngest there, a poor 15yo boy. :lol:

And I remember there were lots of Balto fan sites, too, and all of them were active: fluke's tribute, Silver Wolf's Balto page, Greykitty's site (can't remember its name)... And Balto Source was a young site with few members, but I clearly remember that it grew incredibly fast.

Too bad I'm too "young" to know the birth of TIB, the Yahoo group and the IRC chats!

And Steet's nick was Steetboris.

Yeah...Man, I was such an arrogant jerk back then. XD Ah well, [almost] everyone grows up eventually.

But still, I can't help longing for those days.

I've been here for two years now, and I still feel like a noob. Anyways for some reason I was to shy to join back in 05. I sure wish would have joined back then, because now I feel like I missed all good stuff.

So noobish.

I was a good noob, though. I didn't spam, and usually used proper grammar. And I was generally nice to people. xD

But I changed my name an awful lot, and created atleast 2 other accounts. x] I wonder if they still exist. I sure hope not, lmao.

I can remember roleplaying in the roleplay box more than anything. I was there almost all the time, and now I've not been there in ages. And in '06-'07, I dominated the forum. Mostly roleplaying ... and I can remember some pretty amazing roleplays I got involved with. And some amazing people I met through roleplaying..

How I loved the site back then. It's such a shame, how much it's changed...

I was thinking about the changes that Animation Source has gone through since I first joined under my ''n00b'' accounts, I Dig Disney and 317537 . . . .

Some of us complain that new members are taking over and that AS is a mess nowadays, but I really do beg to differ...

I will admit that I see some of the changes which have taken place (some good; some not-too-well), and I have to say that I've been curious as to if anyone else remembers any of these things:

? The TLKS layout was bright yellow and rather ugly-looking, so Steet held a contest to see who could make the most suitable theme for the site. The winner's entry was used. (...and still remains, to this day, TLKS's green layout)
? Steet played an April Fool's joke on us - announcing falsely that the new layout of the site would be a dull, boring, white theme. xD
? The fan art section had only about 15 galleries.
? A few members used MySpace layouts for their profiles (and I was jealous and posted this question in hopes of finding out how to do it -> LOL My Nooby Question)

There were so many more notable happenings.
I can't list them all. P=

If you remember any more or want to add to the ones I've posted, feel free.

I remember the reason I changed that username,because Spirit The Cat,and I shared the same initials,and he thought of the initials first,so to be fair to him,I changed my name to Sarabi/Balto

I remember when talking on the shot box didn't require someone to be as... policically correct... as you mihgt have to be now. I belive that's what made it fun; being able to talk to anyone about almost anything. Until people started getting whiney and more restrictions were put on. Lol. I really miss Kari, if anyone remembers who she is. Real fun member. Awesome mod.
