I have a mask from dressing up as Simba when I was younger, and i noticed that their faces are simular, like they both have eyepatches and stuff.

So then would you say it's 'sad' that my parents weren't creative enough to give me a unique eye color (mine are hazel), too? :P

...Like it's been said before, it's not a lack of creativity.. it's just... how many eye colors/shapes do you think are really available to use (and look good) among cartoon characters (animals included, or maybe even especially)? Of course some characters are going to have little similarities like that; there are plenty of features drawn almost in a universal way between tons of cartoons... look at anime eyes. And Disney has a pretty set style for nearly all their movies.

I think their eyes look really nice on both of them I do think you need characters to have somewhat detailed eyes for feature films, and I think this style has a nice amount of detail. At least their fur colours are completely different, so while Simba's eyes are similar colours to his fur, Balto's eyes contrast nicely.

I like the fact that the whites of their eyes are replaced by yellow. That's quite original, and I think that's what makes specifically these two characters seem similar. It looks good on animal characters I think, though.

agreed just saying but most animals such as dogs and lions do have brown eyes unlike humans you know  ..... it's not a lack of creativity its basically realism.

There can be many reasons why they are alike, but come on those 2 movies are awesome so don't make it a huge deal
