Helga saw Jamie first and jestured for Mike to say something.
Mike stuttered for a moment, then started talking.
"J...Jamie... Is your name Jamie?"

She looked at the male and said, " Well, that's what the people call me. My maiden name is Dancing Rain Feather. I was once owned by indians then, well, they left their land and I well, was left behind." She said, "So, that's not really my name. You can call me rain feather if you want. Or just Feather if you prefer." She said with an expression that she rarely put on her face. A warm smile.

"Okay then Feather. I...I mean we're here to get you out of there. I mean, if you want to. Are the humans gone yet?"

She looked at the house then at him, "Well, let me go see." She said and dashed off into the house. She came back, and said, "Their gone now. I want these stupid collars off of me. You can get through the fence without harming yourself, but, I can't. So, just walk up to me and help get these off please?" She asked.

Mike again looked at Helga for support.

Mike took a running leap and made it easily into the yard. He walked purposefully over to Feather.
"So how does this thing come off?"

"Well, um, I think that there is a clip in the back of the collar that you can snap and it will come off. The other one, I will have to get off." She said and let him manage the collar giving him support along the way.

Mike bit at the collar, listening to Feather talk. Suddenly it fell free from her neck.
"Now, you take the other collar off. Where ever it is."

The other collar was hidden underneath her fer and she shook her neck and jumped over the fence running off into the woods. She then stopped and looked back at the dreadful place that she lived in. She snarled at it and ran into the woods finding almost like a neighborhood of dens. She found an empty one and lived there. Pretty soon, the collar was off and took it to Hilda, " Here. You can have use for it." She said giving her the tannish brown leather collar that had her name engraved on it. It said, 'Jamie' on it.

With that, Helga took it in her mouth and was off. Back to her den to desplay her new prize.
Mike found the den where Feather had run off to.
"Why'd you run off so fast? I barely know you...

Jamie looked up at him and stood up, "Well, I was captured and put in a stupid zoo and I got free and I got trapped in the snow and the husky saved me, and then now, I'm here." She said. It felt good to talk to her own breed, so she smiled.

When the people got home they were a drunk mess. They almost killed Steele they were so drunk.

Mike was about to think of a witty remark to make her laugh when Helga came bounding out of the woods, and skid to a halt in front of him
"The humans are home and with them comes much danger. We must flee here"
Just then, the drunk man came seemingly out of nowhere with his gun and took a shot right at Mike.
