Well maybe what I said just then was a bit harsh, but I see no need to tell him to calm down. I don't want to start a fight or anything, so I'm not going to say anything about this after this post. I just don't think that JC has anything to calm down from. I think you're over-reacting more than her is.

My point, is that I am agreeing with you. I agree, if you even want me to say it again I AGREE. Thats my point thats all I came for. And all I asked for you was to just calm down jeewhiz? And now your bringing a topic up from Last year that happend on a shoutbox? Way to go for acting your age.

I agree with ya JC. I definitely won't say who, but I have seen usernames that have hit up to 25 characters. I don't see why anybody would want a name that long. Some were just like mini-bios of the person and I guess they didn't know about putting things in their profile.

What's worst is that in especially long usernames most of it seems completely worthless and it's just filled with characters that make zero sense. I don't know why people feel compelled to have such long names but they need a reality check.

Maybe, but I don't think kids should take all the blame I think it's just a small amount of the population of all ages on here that doesn't have a clue. I don't think it's right to pin it all on kids (especially since I technically am one), so I'm kinda put-off at that.

We really need a character limit for usernames.

I'm sure they're all kids, since not even half of the members of this site are adults. And adults know better than to annoy us with uneeded, long names.

yep, I just saw it myself... I'm like, "woah" Like I said, Steet needs to make a long name sensor. (If that's possible.) Somethings needs to be done, one way or another.

True, I checked and there is no limit to the size of the usernames (well, the limit is the database field size, which is 255 characters - a mistake)
I will change that (both to the registering part and the name change part)
Although it will only have effect on the registered accounts to come, or the people who will be changing their names in the future. (if I change their name size now, they will not be able to connect to the site)

The new limit will be 20 characters, which should be enough.
If the moderators spot some usernames way too long, tell me and I will change them (but only after alerting these members)
