I like the ones in Balto 2, because they are a funny group of wolves!

I like the original trio. They were so funny!

Nikki Kaltag and Star. They were funny.

I voted for the original trio. I feel that over the time that we see them in that first film, each of them have their personalities really well established. Mostly through repetition but it still gives us a very strong feel for their characters. And they seem to really support the other characters each in their own individual way. To provide a bit more agression or comic relief or sympathy either willingly or reluctantly depending on thier own look on life. And when some of them turned to Balto's side or gave in to the other in the trio it was a touching moment.

The other two trios although providing similar purposes of support for the other characters, seemed to be more governed by that need. Balto 2 the wolves seemed to be limited in providing the old routine of bumbling henchmen we often see in childrens films to make the villains seem less 'frightening' and humorous. Not that I mind that but it doesn't give much scope for their individual qualities to come out.
The Balto 3 trio are much better and you do get a bit more feeling for them but they seemed mostly governed by being there to provide simple peer pressure on Kodi. However we do get to see some differences in them and I believe having a female provided bit of a potential love interest for Kodi, especially as she seemed to be the first to turn to his side when he really needed it and in a way kind of prompted the others to really look at themselves. For that to shine through in that moment it seemed to show that more thought had been put in to the relations between them.And it seemed to follow the footsteps of the original three. But I don't think it was quite as strong enough to leave as much of an impression as the original three. But if they continued their story, it could be interesting with those foundations there so they come a close second. Although really its the girl who shines here (in my opinion).

I'd have to say Nikki, Kaltag and Star, they work so well together and are very strong characters in the first film. The trios that came later on lacked the same sort of, feeling and character. Don't get me wrong Dusty, Kirby, Ralph still went together well, but Nikki, Kaltag and Star were just better. As for Wolf Quest's trio, well lets just not go there...

Nikki, Kaltag, and Star for sure. they were funny. i liked how Kaltag kept stuttering and Star would say something and get knocked out...harsh...but funny
