Mm, I agree w/ whitewolf17 & Canis Lupus here. I mean, I'm not really a huge LP fan - I prolly would've put them on my 'favorite bands' list when I was 12 or 13, currently I have maybe 6 or 7 songs by them out of 1500 on my iTunes - but really... people are entitled to their own opinions. They can like and dislike whatever they want, all the more something that REALLY DOESN'T FRIGGING MATTER like music or TV or whatever. And really, having it ingrained in your own mind that "anyone who listens to Linkin Park, Korn, or Slipknot is a brainwashed, teenage-wangst, wannabe hardkore bitchhhh" makes you, in my eyes, just as 'bad' as the people you describe who think they're all that... By all means, go ahead & say you don't like Linkin Park or any particular band - you've heard it and you formed your own opinion, you have every right in the world to feel that way. But don't lump everyone who DOES like it into your narrowminded stereotypes :/ Quote: "Nobody understands me" lyrics to appeal to teenagers that don't know how good they have it? Check Don't think you know how "good" someone has it unless you actually are *in* their personal lives - I have a good friend who dresses nice, smiles & laughs a lot, has lots of friends, does well in school, etc... and when she goes home, her parents hit her, her mother doesn't let her eat, and she basically isn't allowed to have a social life after school :/ You wouldn't think she comes from such a bad place, the way she presents herself. Not that this has anything to do w/ the music... carry on. :> EDIT: Oh yes... as for the "big deal w/ Linkin Park"... I guess a lot of people like them. *shrug*

Anyway, I agree there are alot of boards about them and y'know not just young people like them. My dad does, he's like 42. I do have to say your beign very harsh about them and not everybody likes the same kind of music. So, can we all talk about the things we like instead of wasting time critisizing about the stuff we don't.

Rainy Day Courtney. wrote: this thread makes me lol so hard because it's so sarcastic. and all you LP fans are all on the defensive. let's go on the offensive then. IF like some of you say linkin park is a bad band you are fully allowed to express that opinion but give me one band... no one song that everyone likes absolutely everyone, you'll never find one cause you all have your own taste and I have my own. Trust me i've tried to get people on this forum to at least say that rap music as a genre isn't as bad as the radio makes it seem but every time i fall on my face. you wanna know why? cause you can't make people dislike or force them to like something so insulting them won't stop the topics in fact you've probably incited a few fans to go and make pro - linkin park topics. I've been a linkin park fan for quite a few years now and while true so fans came in and flaked but not all of us are all uber-obsessed but i think perhaps you've stated your opinions as fact which of course would cause conflict. also this topic seemed to be mostly flame-bait anyway

Uh, why wouldn't "all you LP fans [be] on the defensive"? Do you expect them to come in and say, "I agree, Linkin Park sucks, and I'm a fan"? Obviously people are defending what they like... and some of us are defending what we don't even care for one way or the other... because some people are just being, pardon my french, ******* about it. Like I said though, peoples' taste in music shouldn't be such a big deal... I should be able to enjoy Slipknot & the like w/o being categorized as a "brainwashed" MTV kid.
Agreed w/ Hybrid Misfit.

Agreed w/ Hybrid Misfit. I agree as well. Just because somebody might like LP doesn't mean they are some brain-washed, teenage-angst-filled wannabe punk. I listen to LP and Slipknot but I am in no way some "MTV kid". MY taste in music ranges from heavy metal to jazz to rock to rap and even to songs from movies like Lion King or Balto so not all LP fans are like how some of ya say they are.

I've never lsitened to Linkin'Park. Or perhaps I have, but it didn't insipre any interest in me to find out the band name, obviously. And I'm kinda glad I haven't...'cos if I did, I'd most probably get sucked into this stupid flame war Some of the things I listen to: I listen to Panic! At The Disco, The Delays,The Courteeners, and The Kooks. You gonna kill me for that? Or shall we start a whole new flame battle?

Wow this is getting out of hand.
Personally I like quite a few Linkin Park songs and I'm generally a happy, cheerful person so I don't think you can stereotype people that listen to them. XD People are entitled to their own opinions and you can't moan about something that's popular just because you don't like it. I must admit some of their songs are... strange in my opinion but personally I hate Slipknot and my friend is a big fan but I don't go around saying his stuff is garbage. XD It's purely a matter of opinion and personal taste and I think this topic should be locked now.
