Here's some Australian ones,
A life sentence is 25 years. Children may not purchase cigarettes, but they may smoke them. You may never leave your car keys in an unattended vehicle. It is illegal to roam the streets wearing black clothes, felt shoes and black shoe polish on your face as these items are the tools of a cat burgular. It is illegal to walk on the right hand side of a footpath. Under Australian Communications Authority (ACA) regulations, a modem can’t pick up on the first ring. Bars are required to stable, water and feed the horses of their patrons. The legal age for straight sex is 16, unless the person is in the care/custody of the older person, in which case it is 18. Only licensed electricians may change a light bulb. It is illegal to wear hot pink pants after midday Sunday. You must have a neck to knee swimsuit in order to swim at Brighton Beach. It is illegal to drive straight into your driveway, you’re meant to reverse in and drive out straight.

Why would you want to wear black shoe polish anyway?

What is up with number 2, its already illiegal to commit a murder, why should it matter what is being worn. That's like saying don't jack a car wearing a red shirt. Totally pointless.

Just like: Banshee wrote: 4) It is against the law for a man to knit during the fishing season. 5) It is against the law to "frown" at a police officer. Banshee wrote: 8) The third Thursday of October is designated as "New Jersey Credit Union Day" and citizens of the state should observe the day with "appropriate activities and programs". JerseyCaptain wrote: Did any of you ever stop to think that many of these laws are just very old ones which have been largely forgotten or faded into obscurity, and thus were never taken off the books? And that, at the time they were created, they made perfect sense to the populace for which they were made? If you ask me, that's probably part of their humour - the fact that they still have yet to be repealed (such as Oliver Cromwell's mince pie law). But you are right - for example the law on keeping a pigsty outside your house probably did make sense, since London used to be overcrowded and dirty enough without someone letting their pigs run about everywhere. But, with the whole dying in the Houses of Parliament thing...no...just no..

JerseyCaptain wrote: wildtiel wrote: I do agree with you Jersey, but even if they made certain sence at one time, it is still fun to laugh at them, or even imagine why some of these are laws. They wouldn't be laws unless somebody commited them at one point. Like fishing from a giraffs neck. I don't even want to know the story behind that one I don't deny that some of them are totally hilarious (such as that one), but I will always have a problem with teenagers making light of historical material without understanding or appreciation of the setting or circumstances. That's immature. I gotta disagree with ya. By appreciating how humorous those laws are now it gets people(at least me) interested in why they were made and it makes people think about why this or that happened and how. There are many ways to appreciate history and humor is one of them.
