The reason we have sections for those things is because they're very popular subjects. History just isn't. Seriously, go and count how many history topics there are in the Other section.

Exactly! @Conay; If we make a history topic just for the fun of it or because ya think people would like it then for that same argument how about we make a section for cars, or appliances, or cooking, or photography, or whatever? Ya obviously want a history-related topic so (and I know this is a pretty totally-out-there idea) why don't ya make one?!

MAYBE there are non, but MAYBE if we create one, there might be more history topics, it dosen't work, we can just delete it. It's something we CAN try!

Don't ya just think that if people WANTED history topics, they would... oh I don't know... MAKE THEM?? A whole sub-forum would hardly make a difference. It would be a waste of space and that's it.

Look, if people were interested, there would be more topics about historical topics. Something like this on Balto sourc would cause majour flame/wars. It would just be to much for the mods to handle.

We can ALWAYS delete it. and move the topics into the other section. Mighty: it's called "Jobsworth"

You really think Steet wants to create another sub-forum just because a handful of people MIGHT post in it? Without any actual interest so far? And that the few remaining forum mods want yet another place to watch for almost inevitable flame wars?
No. History is interesting, yes but it's not a popular subject here on BS. If we were to make another sub-forum it should be for something that's already popular. That's the point of sub-forums. To put all topics relating to one thing in when they clog up an existing forum.
Example: Fan art. Adoption topics were filling it up. Sub-forum was created.

Ya know what I think? I think that this topic is getting nowhere and I know there are some mods on here so I'm asking it to be locked because we are just repeating the same stuff and that will only lead to flame wars and the like.

Look, you know - I give it fighting this battle, I thought maybe we could give it a try, but maybe this is how bad even the mods on Animation source are getting, they just look on the downside.

If we were "always looking on the downside" we would have said "No! It'll cause flames and fights and trolling!". We didn't - Fact is, a history section is not productive to the site. We have loads of sections already and adding more for the sake of "seeing how it goes" is a waste of time.

It is not called "looking on the downside". It's called being realistic.
And the realistic side to this is it wouldn't work.
