Kovu was about thirty minutes out into his walk when in the distance he thought he saw something sparkle in the sunlight. Running towards it he began to realize it was the human camp; and upon closer inspection he saw it had long been abandoned. Wondering if there was anything that was still good left, he started going through the containers and tents one by one until he got to one last locked container.

When Simba saw Kiara returning with Zazu he gently nudged Nala with his head to tell her to look up so she could see Kiara returning so she would stop worrying. After welcoming Kiara and Zazu back Simba asked Zazu where Rafiki was. Rafiki said to meet him at the top of pride rock but so far he hadn't shown up. "Oh, well" Simba thought. "He'll turn up eventually".
