Another thing, for all you guys (and yes, I mean NOT girls) out there who have posted in here that they hate it, it's really a book for GIRLS. We have different TASTE in what we like to read. Although, of cource, there ARE some girls out there who don't like the series. Fine with me.
But what I'm saying is, you wouldn't like the series because it's more for girls. It's not your taste. Like most of us girls out there, we hate series that you like. So, yeah, we're even. It doesn't mean we should both like or hate the same thing.
Yeesh... >_>
P.S. sorry if it sounded confusing and wasn't clear. My mind is blank today.. DX I'm a guy(in case ya didn't know) and the reason I don't like Twilight is because it ruins vampires and their whole image as bad guys, and the whole premise of Twilight is utterly stupid. I did read it though so I could say for sure that I liked it or not and didn't like it not because it's aimed at girls but because it was a bad idea in the first place and was poorly executed.

She's amazing and gave a whole new light to vampires, one that I like even more than the traditional "make you fall for him, then rip your throat out ; can't go in sunlight or will burst into flame for no reason" crap. They are completely different, with even cooler danger. I actually find it annoying how many guys are like "Well, Twilight sucks [blah blah blah]". Many I know actually changed their minds once they stopped being so closed minded and actually read it. But eh.
I know I'm not sorry for loving this book. Quite the opposite, actually. :] I'm proud that I like it. So what if it makes me like many other girls in the world. There's gotta be something that links me to them. lmao.
Though I must say, I'm not one of the die-hard "EDWARD IS MINEEE!!" girls. I like the books not because of Edward, but because of the whole romantic aspect, along with the suspence and danger/thrill. Even if Edward wasn't in it (like in much of New Moon), I love the books. Heck, Edward isn't even my favorite character. Lol. It's probably more close to Alice. YES. My thoughts exactly. I honestly agree 100% with everything you said. Thanks Tibella. <3 And Alice is definetely my favourite aswell. I don't even understand why so many fangirls literally DIE over Edward. It actually creeps me out a little. x3

But yeah, sorry if you took that hard and thought I was all ticked off at ya. XD I'm not.

We all have our opinions on the series and I myself have no problem with ya liking it. I may hate the books/plot but if the author is selling that many copies and has lots of fans then she must be doing something right(even though I fail to see what it is).

I, personally, very much dislike these books. No, I haven't exactly read the whole book, but I've read excerpts from it and have heard my friend explain to me what goes on in the book. Meh, it just doesn't really fit my taste, or at least, what I've heard hasn't.
Then again, I've never really liked romances...
I'm more of the person who likes it when the vampire/werewolf/person with odd powers is rejected from the rest of society when their secret is discovered. Or the military/hunters start to track them down to test/kill them. I don't know why, it just feels much more.. interesting to me [I like movies/shows/books such as X-Men [mutants aren't accepted by the public], Smallville [NOT Superman, Smallville. The meteor-infected are feared and Clark is always in danger of someone finding out his secret and testing/killing him], and the Shadow Children Series [third-children are forbidden and may be killed if discovered]
But that's just me.
I have nothing against the fans, though ;D

To me, you are free to have your own opinion and I'm not about to waste time trying to persuade you otherwise. I am a true die-hard fan of the Twilight saga and I just got finished seeing the movie. I'll admit, some parts were a little melodramatic or just completely moronic, but all in all, I loved it. Any fan of the books will still enjoy the movie even if you're comparing it in your head the whole time, like I was. Go see it!

I have mixed feelings about the book and the trailers and what I've heard abouy the movie. Honestly,I think Twilight is good for a romance novel and I find it clever the way they portrayed vampire in it,because really at least Stephenie expolored something new with vamps instead of the traditional I want to suck your blood and kill you stuff. However,I hate how she makes Bella describe everything literally, everything. I swear she describes how green Forks,Washington is way too many times and some of the things she says about Edward is ridiculous. I sorta don't like how she was OH So repulsed by him at the beginning and suddenly falls madly in love in a few weeks.....honestly,it should take more time than that,if your first feelings of that person were negative. However,I do like the concept, but eh,maybe thats me being a vampire/werewolf novel and film fan. (I despise the werewolves in underworld though, terrible CGI for them in my op and just not my traditional werewolf. But,thats a story for another day XD) But as Anthony Burgess said about his work"Take it in or spit it out. You are free." and thats more true than anything I could say. NO one should ever be pressured into hating or liking something so just remember you are free to decide.

But by exploring new things with vampires she destroys all the myth about them(that took a while to build) in about two to three years. Now everyone has probably forgotten what vampires were meant to be like in the first place. They aren't like superman/spider man kinda heroes. They are monsters.

I agree, but even though I enjoy the books,I prefer things like Anne Rice writes or Dracula from Van Helsing. However,I think I like Stephenie's exploration of them being civilzed for once and if it only happens in her books (hopefully) then the traditional vampire shouldnt be forgotten. If someone else does this GOOD little vampire story after her though I just might scream. XD

It's a slippery slope when it comes to things like this.
