I'll rent it.

Great effects don't make up for a non-existent story, shallow characters, bad dialogue, and a messy script. If you took away all the big action scenes, nobody would've enjoyed the first movie, and a good movie can survive on more than big budget effects and explosions.

Also, Michael Bay couldn't direct his way out of a paper bag.

There was a story in the movie and I thought it was very good! I do admit that some characters were kinda shallow(the humans) but the plot was great and the action only enhanced it.

Ya do have a good point about nothing but effects and explosions in movies because there are movies(the last few Star Wars) that relied on only that.

Also, Micheal Bay is a good director so I'd like to see ya be as good as him before saying he's bad.

Michael Bay knows how to do two things: blow stuff up, and blow stuff up in slow motion. Hell, if it were two hours of just giant robot fights and big explosions, I would've been satisfied because those last twenty minutes were admittedly quite enjoyable (even if they were just mindless action).

Bottom line, Bay: If you're going to focus more on humans than robots in a movie that people see solely for the purpose of robots blowing **** up, at least make them interesting, and don't add a bunch of lame jokes.

The jokes weren't too bad in the movie(most of them).

Also, I went to see it because I love Transformers and not for the mindless action scenes. I think die-hard fans like me will like it for the plot (and) action; and other people will like it mainly for the action.

Well this one doesn't need to focus more on humans, the characters have already been introduced, they can cut to the action a lot quicker. And the action wasn't mindless, there was a point, the Decpticons wanting to take over the world and the Autobots protecting it, it isn't mindless if there is a reason behind it.

Sorry to double post but update. Its been announced that Unicron will likely appear in the third film of the series. And that the film will revolve around the Transformer's history on the planet earth. A Teasure Trailer will appear during the Super Bowl. Also, here is a teasure poster for the film, possibly showing the Fallen.

I know, It's just one more great reason to watch the Super Bowl.

The only problem for me is the closest theater within like five miles of my house closed a month ago so it's gonna be hard for me to get to see it in theaters(I'm still gonna though).

Yeah, I've seen the Fallen's full body pic, he's awsome. The one I want to see is Devastator (the one called that in the first film was a typo, that was really Brawl), he's a 120 foot Decepticon formed by like five diffrent robots.
