Sounds good, I only need to think of one "easy and yet interesting" way to doing this.

I was going to make the contest, but I have a few questions...
One, when should the deadline be?
Two, do you want me to make a topic for it in ''Lion King Fan More''?
It seems like forum topics get more publicity than contests on the main site... =S

I'm sure more details of the contest will be made once steet get things together.

HECK YES!!

I've always wanted another awards thing like this, but I never thought it would appear to happen ever again, speaking that it kinda died out in 2006. =/ But... this is awesome!! XD I'd LOVE to have this happen! X3

And... the rest of my message pretty much sums up what the others have said. 8D

In response to this, I have to say that I like the idea. I agree with UK, in that I think this might help join everyone together and get us all acting a bit more friendly, like we used to, especially with the holiday season right around the corner.

However, I think that some changes should be made to the old contest:

1. Perhaps a few more categories/winners should be added, since Balto Source has expanded since the last contest was held (about two years ago, I want to say. Is that right? Oh good gracious I've been here a while, XD).

2. Maybe we could do this a bit more like common award ceremonies, where the members first send in nominations/suggestions for each award and can only nominate one member for one award (not one member for multiple awards) and they cannot nominate themselves. Nominations could be pmed for privacy. Then, a judge (or several judges as the case may be) will tally up the nominations and the top 5 - 10 users nominated for each award will go to the next stage where they will be voted on. Voting could also be done via pm to several judges (one judge for all the users with names usernames beginning with the letters A - F, one judge for G - K, or whatever is decided depending on the number of judges.) I recommend voting via pm, just because I'm not sure if the poll system on the forums allows secondary votes from members, or if it even allows votes from non-members, so this might be the easiest way to make sure that everyone votes only once.

3. FS is onto something with the 1st 2nd and 3rd prizes, as well as the images to be handed out to the winners. The only suggestion I have to make with that is that each "Award" be personalized with both the name of the Award (i.e. Best, 2nd Best, 3rd Best Video Producer or something like that) AND the name of the recipient emblazoned over the image so that no one else can steal the image and say that they won it (either here, or on any other site). I don't think anyone would do this, but just in case, it might be a good idea. Things like that have happened before. It could also have the words "Balto Source" on it somewhere and 2008/2009, just to show when/where the award was won.

It should go without saying that anyone involved with planning or officially helping with the contest should not be nominated, so that they can focus on their duties and also so that no one has an unfair advantage. And perhaps if we could remember who won what awards last time, we could have them be ineligible for the same award this time around. However, what do you guys think about letting older winners compete for awards that they didn't win? Should they be allowed? And should one person be allowed to win more than one award?

Also, who would you guys want to moderate/judge this? But who do you think would be best suited to fairly judge the competition? And how many judges should there be so that the workload isn't overwhelming? XD

I like those suggestions Aniu.

I personally think that one person can only win one award.
In the event that one person is nominated for two awards and get to the final x number of people to vote for and end up being voted winner for both then the judges should have to come a unanimous decision about which best suits that person, the other award shall go to the person who would have come second.
(Please tell me you understood all that? D: )

I have no idea who won last time, it was way back in 2006 and I can't find the old topic so I fear it's ended up deleted over time. I seem to remember it was in the Introductions section...

I also -think- mods weren't allowed to be nominated. I don't remember why though.
