Honestly I think it's really surprising that Aleu didn't get adopted. For one, you'd think since Balto became such a beloved hero, everyone would be giddy at the chance to own their own "little Balto"! Also, I don't buy that crap about Aleu being "more wolf than her father" She's 1/4 wolf. Balto was 1/2, and looked way more wolflike than she did; the wolves in the first movie, where they howl to him and stuff and he walks away - he looked just like them. She doesn't even look wolfish, really - doesn't Dusty from WoC pretty much look like a heftier version of Aleu? ...anyway... If she did get adopted, I'd see her going home w/ a little kid like Rosy who's enthusiastic about dogs/dogsledding and wants to train Aleu to be the next big champion/hero I completely understand & agree about wolfdogs & kids not mixing, but for the purposes of the Balto movies, I think it's obvious some facts are waved away for the sake of the story - ie Balto being part wolf, when IRL he was pure husky; Balto being a noble, gentle, kid-lovin' wolfdog, when in reality this probably wouldn't be the case... you get my point, yes?

You know, that was something that always bothered me about the adoption scene in WQ. I mean look at what the people of Nome would know: 1. Balto is a hero and a legend. 2. Balto has proven himself to be the fastest lead dog in the town. 3. Jenna is a purebred husky, in addition to being the prettiest dog in town. I'm sorry, but there is no chance that people wouldn't be lining up around the block for a chance to own one of Balto's puppies. Are you kidding me? It's like the chance to own a superdog! Not to mention the prestige of owning the offspring of the town hero. I understand they had to do it that way in the film in order to make the point that Aleu was too different to be adopted, the entire premise of the movie was based on it. But it really just sort of went against common sense. Anyway, back on topic: Since everybody knows Balto is half wolf and by extension they would all know his pups with Jenna would be quarter-wolves, I'd think the kid who came over and picked Aleu up out of the box would be the one who knew she was part wolf and really likes the fact that she looks like a wolf. I mean dogs are great, but this one's a wolf! I imagine it would probably be a boy.

Xaqtly has gotta point there. I've always pondered this my-self. I know I'd want Aleu, well, I should re-phrase that. I'd want one of Balto's pups no matter what they looked like, I just don't like Aleu that much, but you get the point.

I would think her being 1/4 wolf would make her more dog than wolf as well but there is a logical reason. The wolf gene isn't recessive, meaning there was a chance the wolf traits would be more apparent in one of the pups, particularally that there were six of them, if there had been two, it would've been less likely. What bugs me is she has blue eyes, nether Balto or Jenna have blue eyes, where did they come from?

I don´t think that Aleu was ever adopted, but if she where will probably be by a little kid who needs protection or a rebel not-understanded teenager
