Nightwish for me. Before the original singer left. I'm finding that I prefer symphonic metal with a female singer. There are several other bands that are similar to Nightwish, but I haven't really looked into them.

The band that really influenced me is Motley Crue. They're just my all time personal favorite. Nothing will be able to take it away. Everything I do from writing to playing the bass, Motley Crue influenced me in one way or another.

When it comes to getting into Doom Metal, Pentagram. That's all I have to say. If I wasn't listening to Pentagram when I was looking for something else to listen too, I doubt I'd be into bands like Candlemass, Acid Bath, Cathedral, Solitude Aeturnus and so forth.
