I'm not that good with computers but from what I do know there is no way at all to identify a computer itself and ban it. Unless you're staff on that site and know exactly how it works I doubt they use a banning system which can identify a computer itself. You ban a computer via it's IP... I'm guessing Balto Source already uses IP bans... This I know, however I think there is a way to ban computers VIA there IP.

When you ban an IP, you ban the internet connection of the user; in no way this is related to the computer.

This is a quote from someone from my school (The teacher who coded the Intranet And installed everthing): "If the IP address is connected to there Internet connection (e.g. Sky, Virgin media Exc.) It can pass through onto the computer via the Modem" Not sure if that made any scence.

Mohammad891 wrote: This is not possible... The modem can not be harmed unless you are physically there and disconnecting it. Its not possible plus there is a pretty high chance you wont get a specific modem. Also Dude if you ban A modem you can just go to another house with a different modem and log in from there so problem will still be there... OR the useage of -cough- could come in handy.

Mohammad891 wrote: Well now... What im trying to figure whats the point your trying to make? i get the 3 types of ban merged in one ban.. but not computer ban.. but shouldn't the mods be handling this problem? I mean members can help out and all by suggesting but, those who use the the ban system know how it works. How do you know if it operates in that manner already? You may sometimes never know what actually goes behind the scenes. I know there is no computer banning here (Both steet and UK have said). And yet... I have been banned before; Both IP and Username, witch my last ban was JUST username... Others where mostly IP AND username.

Mohammad891 wrote: Doesn't that make the point of the topic, therefore irrelevant? Since you your self know that they use both... However not Computer banning, and thats what i'm suggesting.

As long as your not viewing files, or downloading stuff on there computer, it is perfectly legal.
