The way I see it, there's little point getting worked up about things like that when really you can't do anything about them. It's just a waste of time and energy. For example, I'm going on a trip sometime next calendar year for purposes pertaining to my education (anyone who knows the natuire of my education can probably guess). And, despite heavy terrorist activity in one of the available countries, meaning a strong possibility that I might not return in one piece, I felt led to mark that one as my first choice.
Now, am I concerned about the risks? Somewhat. Am I afraid of getting killed? To be honest, no. I'll wager that I would feel differently if there were a gun to my head, but I have confidence that I will not be killed until my time on this planet is over. In other words, it's out of my hands.
Of course, I could pick a safer country to visit. But what good is life if you don't take a few chances? And who wants to live forever anyway?
Now as for the movie, I agree it's a tragedy that they can't respect historical truth. But when there's nutjobs out there trying to rewrite our history books, I've got little worry to spare over Hollywood making fools of themselves.
I don't recall "getting worked up" about it. I am just explaining my view on things, based upon first-hand experience. It's called an informed opinion. Everyone's entitled...even me.
As to traveling to Israel, well...you've gotta do what you've gotta do.
My mistake. You just seem so... passionate, I guess is the word I'm searching for, about this sort of thing. Sometimes it's hard for me to remember that you're not getting worked up about it, you know? But I certainly respect your opinion - in fact, I largely agree with it.
On the matter of Israel, that's not the place I'm going. In fact... well, suffice it to say they're closed to the sort of trip I'm taking.
