Kiki Frowned at the thought of that. It wasnt fair, just ebbecause she didnt look like her father... doesnt mean he has to niglet her. She sighed and walked over to her father. " Dad, why dont you like me as much as the boys?" she asked him with puppy dog eyes. She sat down and waited for his answer.

"Uh, I, ummm..." Steele was obviously avoiding the subject. He tried not to look into her pitiful blue eyes. "What makes you think that?" He fidgeted as if he'd rather be doing anything but answering this question.

Kiwi then looked down. Well, you never...spend time with me like mom does...it's like...you dont see me or like me" she told him. Her ears went back alittle and her tail moped around.

Steele sighed. "Well...would you like to come with me and the boys to play in the snow?" He acted like it was a supreme effort just to get the words out. Kiki nodded eagerly, trying her best to ignore the tone. "Okay," she replied.

Kiki followed her father and siblings outside. Suddenly, Bronze attaked her playfully. He pined her and then started to nibble at her ear. Kiki pushed him off and growled playfully. THen there was a game of chase. Kiki was chasing Bronze and Cooper was chasing Kiki. Kiki then stoped when she noticed that her brother fell down in pain. "Daddy!" she called. She then ran to Cooper's side. " what's wrong?" she asked him. " I...cant breath..." He said in between gasps. Kiki got nevious as her brother lay there in the snow gasping for air like someone was choking him.

"Daddy!...Daddy?" Kiki glared angrily at her father, who seemed to not notice the tragedy at hand. "DADDY!"

"W-what...?" Steele dashed over to Cooper, glaring back at Kiki as if SHE'D been responsible for Cooper's pain. "What did you do?" he hissed.

"Nothing," she spat back through clenched teeth. "I found him like this. What's wrong with him?"

" I didnt do anything! we were playing tag then he just...fell..." She glared at him. She looked down at her brother with worried eyes. Bronze ran to his brother's side when he herd Kiki yell.

"Dad...?" There seemed to be many hesitant questions in the air - spoken or un-spoken. It was Bronze who asked his father to do something, anything. Steele looked Bronze in the eye in response. "Son, you're in charge until I get back," he said. Then he took off.

Bronze glanced apologetically at Kiki, knowing how their father treated her.

"You can help me watch him," he offered plainly.

Kiki put her ears back. "sure" she said. She looked down at Cooper and sighed. She ran inside and got a blanket. She wraped him in it and then said" lets bring him inside."

Gingerly they picked him up. Cooper uttered a low groan that twisted Kiki's heart to the breaking point. "You're gonna be alright, Coop," she murmured, "just hang on." They set him inside by the kitchen stove.

Kiki ran into the living room and grabed a pilow. She raced back to her brother and put the pillow under his head. " better?" she asked. She then pulled Bronze accide and said " what's wrong with him?" in a low whisper.

"I dunno," Bronze whispered back, glancing uneasily at his brother. "I've never seen anything like this." Kiki nodded, knowing that Bronze knew what he was talking about. There had been a mild epidemic in another town, when Steele had taken Bronze on a sled trip. There Bronze had picked up some information on different illnesses from listening to the town doctor.

Cooper groaned and stirred. Bronze muttered, "I don't understand why he just...dropped over like that. It's really strange."

Kiki nodded. " I know..but where did dad go?" she asked him in a whisper. She looked uneasly at Cooper and felt bad for him when he steered.
