The first question is easy: Bon Jovi was what got me into listening to all the music I am into. I was obsessed with them the longest (until I heard and then fell in love with RATT). Anything that I said had to deal with Bon Jovi, drove people nuts xD

My friends and I formed a small garbage-type of band a long time ago but it failed because of the rifts and disagreements between us. I was on bass and sometimes on drums if necessary. Alec John Such (former bassist of Bon Jovi) influenced me to play the bass (with his beginning solo on Keep on Faith of course) and I was inspired by the legendary John Bonham (of Led Zeppelin) and his son Jason Bonham (of the Jason Bonham Band).

What I find sad is that there are some good underrated rock groups out there and no one seems to notice ]: Makes me sad inside. Like RATT for example. A band breaks up and it's like they don't exist anymore. Don't you guys ever feel the same way?

XD Yeah! Bon Jovi was a good one, one of my friends i got her into our kind of music. She loves the band Bon Jovi now. I cant remember my band that started it all, i listened to all of them since i was born thanks to my dad ;) I'm a pure rocker always will be.

I also formed a band but it didnt get anywhere, unfortunitly. My friends didnt really care about the music enough to actually play. Which is really sad to see of the things there missing out from. George Lynch is the one who has influenced me to play guitar, that and my dad played since i could remember. He is wickedly awesome, you can ask any song from the 80's and he is most definitly to play it.

I do feel the same way, how are peopel of the world are now. Forgotten all the great bands out there. And is most focused on the bands now a days. Which i think is kinda sad. I mean i see bands on T.V. that there songs are mostly infosized they dont put hardly any work on it. But the bands that we like put years of hard work into it for others to enjoy. Its heart breaking, i wish everyday that theres someway i could help to bring it all back. But you know the people today dont listen to a thing and i cant do it on my own. Tis very sad, I'm never going to stop listning to the music i listen to. And for the Bands that have been forgotten we ourselves will never forget them and the other true rockers out there wont.

Good for her. They're really good (one of the few 80s band that I can think of off the top of my head who didn't disband when grunge became a hit). I just wish they didn't lost their distinctive 80s sound, although they came back to their rock roots with Have a Nice Day and such.

I dont think they have lost the 80's sound. That I'm aware of! But i could be wrong XD

Dude, your dad is awesome. I wish I knew him, I'd ask him to play a ton of songs lol

Yeah! He is awesome, but he dosnt play that much as he used to. I'm planning to get my own guitar instead of using my dads. So he can teach me more songs. ^^

And the sad fact is that some of the bands have been influenced by their 80s counterparts. But I agree, most bands out there hardly put work into what they're playing (I'm saying most because I've heard a couple of good groups playing now) and a lot are in for the fame and fortune. Which is why I think a lot of them will disband in a couple years or so. And a lot of these newer acts are so well-known it makes me sad that a lot of these other great bands don't get the credit they deserve and instead are compared with other and more well-known groups.

... reminds me of the Triumph vs. Rush comparison that is an endless argument plastered over Youtube.

Yeah, very sad how there just in for the fame and money. I play cause i love it to death, my most favorite hobbie. I dont really like the VS. on youtube makes me very angry the comments they leave about the artists. Some of the comments are totally uncalled for. And plus, most of them have no clue who the other band is, why not actually listen to the other band before making comments bashing them.I agree 100% with you Dakota!
