Now there's a scary thought. It is true that if Disney made Balto, they would give it some high-quality sequels and at least try to get it some publicity, but the bottom line is that if Disney made Balto, they would immediately change it from "Balto, based on a true story." to "Balto, the musical!" Everyone would burst into song at the most unnessecary, cheesy, or idiotic moment(If Disney had the chance to remake the first Balto, I bet someone would be singing enen when Steele falls off the cliff, or when Jenna is worrying about Balto while he's gone).Second, to make it a more child-friendly movie, Disney would probably leave out all traces of Balto's social abnormality, his wolf heritige, and the fact that the epedemic ever happened all together so they can focus on a whole new cast of gulliable, kid-appealing, characters that have no depth. And finally, Disney goes with tradition and portrays the image that all wolves are "bad." So, if Disney were to make a Balto sequel, thay would probably make Balto's mind all twisted and evil, and then reintroduce Steele so he can parade along and save the day. But otherwise, that's a great idea!

But otherwise, that's a great idea! I think you may be exaggerating. Yes, they've made some cheesy ones, but Disney isn't all shallow characters and sing-songy plots. I've seen several movies by them, albeit more in the classic era, that had considerable quality and depth. To name a more recent one, in "Herbie: Fully Loaded," the father is not by any means your run-of-the-mill authoritarian as is all too common in depictions of fathers these days. On the contrary, he cares deeply about his daughter's well-being and wants to keep her safe. Basically, he's hoping she can find satisfaction with a life that... well, a life that won't leave him constantly worried about the chance that she might come home dead. That's the kind of dad missing far too often from our media, and even moreso from our homes. Come to think of it, as a father, he's much the same as Balto was in Balto 2: Wings of Change.

Mohammad891 wrote: Well its more of a Disagree and Agree probably even if Disney made Balto the same or what ever changes they make. Their BRAND NAME is stronger then any thing else and people would be attracted to it as it's known World Wide. Due to its musical and other interests added. That's why the original's are called Disney's Classics. Here's an Example Disney, Little Mermaid And All Dogs Go To Heaven released pretty much in the same year both in 1989. Due to Disney's brand name quality and wide popularity. All Dogs Go To heaven wasn't even Given the popularity it deserved. It doesn't even come on T.v now a days. Even though it had a way better story line then Disney's little Mermaid. So mainly If Disney made Balto Yes it would gain more popularity and yes will be better known and there would be people liking Balto even more, but the feeling and emotion possibly made from the original movie will not be seen and the Disney Version will stray more then the original about the real story, but hears one thing Disney has its good and bad music as well. "Why should i Worry" from Oliver and Company was a really good one even "Streets of Gold." So depending on what the songs and rhythm of the music they choose that decides whether it makes it Lame or good. Actually in the case of "All dogs" and Little mermaid. All dogs go to heaven was shunned by critics cause it was considered too dark and because of it's release close to Little mermaid the two where compared. Later However "All dogs" did amazingly well on VHS sales and is well liked by most people. This is a case of Disney's name being able to not only overshadow another film but almost ruin it because another film dared to differentiate itself from Disney. Luckily in the case of "All dogs" the VHS success was enough to gain it a sequel and TV series but that's only because once it stood on it's own it was seen for what it was and without VHS it may never have achieved such status If that's not Brand Power i don't know what is!

God, I'd DIE! Like others have said, they'd sing. ( I HATE disney movies because of that ) The kids wouldn't get sick, and Steele would turn all good and stuff. They'd "all live happily ever after" and all that crap. Or they might kill Steele as they do with most villans, like that one dude in Beauty and the Beast or Scar or Maleficent or Pooh or- oh wait, Pooh doesn't die. Dang it... But Disney would totally ruin it and make it retarded.

I've seen Disney movies with no music, and I've seen ones where characters died. Let's take this seriously, folks. Disney deserves some credit. I agree Disney is perfectly capable of making a good animated movie. Now had Balto been a Disney channel movie or a Disney/Pixar film *cringe* then i could see how fear of a musical or all around worse than the original movie could be grounded. But when Disney wants to they make classic movies that last for decades (not to say Balto as it is won't)

But when Disney wants to they make classic movies that last for decades (not to say Balto as it is won't) Exactly. I've seen some classic films produced by Disney, and they still have a good fan-following today. The Love Bug, for example (to those who don't know, it was the original Herbie movie). No musical numbers, and a fair share of drama - heck, the lead character (for what else can one call Herbie?) literally tore himself in half to win a race! And what about the original version of That Darn Cat? Plenty of comedy, mystery, intrigue, intended murder, several gun threats (and a few shots), and a good old-fashioned fist fight with nothing held back. And unless you count a bit of soundtrack scarcely more than Balto had, no music. And let's not forget The Lion King. That one was loaded with music, but there's no denying the truth. It. Will. Never. Die.

But even worse, Disney hates wolves,(see my examples below) so there would probably be a whole lot lot of "big bad wolves"in it. Wolves Attacked Belle in Beauty and the Beast " and in the animated Robin Hood with animals the Solders were wolves, and the evil sheriff was a wolf. Also fairy tails like Peter and the wolf, the three little pigs etc. To be fair though, Disney may have 'good' wolves in some movies but I haven't seen any. The wolves in the Jungle Book, but I do take your point.

I really don't know how it could have gone. It probably would have been different, but it could have been a good different. However, I'm not sure if Disney would have put as much meaning into the movie as Universal did, so it could have been worse off.
Although the extra publicity would have been nice.

Oh my.. have you people forgotten that Even Universal Has came out with some classics.. hello Land before time (Original) An american tail (original) All dogs go to heaven, they might not be Labeled "Classic" like disney's movies are but that don't mean that they aren't... alright... sorry I just got a bit uneasy hearing so many bashing universal... *Shakes Head*
Personally I like balto the way it is, yes its not historyically (spelling?) accurate, but they MADE it that way! They new it wasn't but they wanted it to be more... "Relateable".. ya know...
Don't get me wrong I love alot of disney movies, but Universal is just as good... just more people know about disney...
and I also agree with what someone earlier said.. look I've got two kids myself and in all honestly neither one of them like too many disney movies, they actually perfer Land before time, american tail.etc... cus its not "Over the Top" kiddy... alot of disney movies underestimate kids intellect (Sorry for bad spelling , I'm not my best today)
and as far as the voice acting is concerned... Balto had alot of good people in them Kevin bacon (award winnig Actor) Phil Collins ( One of the most well known and best musical artist in the world) and a few others... the dude that played Steeles voice , did TIgger in the winnie the poo.. did Ed in the lion king.. so no problems with the voice choices in the original .. the sequels Yes they had people I knew not anything about, except for sean astin ( or however you spell it) he's popular to a certain degree...
but all in all the sequels could have been done without either done better or not at all... but who cares .... I still watch them.. disney has came out with some doosies too ... XD
well there you have it... that is my 2 cents :3 yay!
