Well, I think that if the member was very new to the site (example: 2 1/2 months) then they would most likely not be equipped to do the moderator job, because not only do you need skills, you also need experience. However, the exception could be that the person has shown promising intelligence and common sense, or that the person has been very helpful in pointing out problems for the mods in a polite, and calm manner. :] So, in all honesty, you don't really have to have been registered on AS for years and years to be able to have any chance to be promoted to a moderator status. Seriously, even people who have been on here since 2005 or 2006, still act like complete idiots. ;]
