I believe you can fall in love for real in your teen years...It's possible, but rare.

Real love is when...You don't care when their hair is messy and you don't care what they look like...as long as they are there with you is all that matters. You love someone when they are the one person you'd take any pain for and it's they who you turn to when you're hurt...There's so much more to it, but...all I can say is...that person has the power to take your breath away and give you your breath all over again.

Very well said, i couldn't agree more.

Ditto. I'm gonna be 13 in March. There's this guy a year older than me who I am really, really crazy about (and he knows it!), and if he were about to get whipped, stabbed or shot at, I'd really rather those things befall upon my own being than his. Love is so pwerful, it is indescrbable. Not that I want the guy and me to be bf/gf; just friends will do. But if he got hurt, I would feel it. This is just one vague example of your love for your crush out of other, many more defined ones, I think.

"Love" has many distinct and only remotely-related forms...romantic love, familial love (including pets), love of friends (also including pets), love of country, love of humankind, divine love (for those who believe in this...which is the absolute purest form of love...utterly unattainable by humans and practically incomprehensible, as it is unbounded...without exception).

One type of attraction which is not "love" at all was mentioned by a previous poster - "lust". That is purely a physical drive, based upon the biochemical reactions of one's body linked to physical and sexual activity. There is no emotional aspect to it...and by itself it can lead to some very ugly things.

I can totally agree with all of what JC said but the only kind of love I don't get is romantic love. I've had a-lot of bad relationships in the past with girlfriends(the few I've had) and have not had any for a long time. I hate to say this but I've almost become completely dead/indifferent to romantic love at this point.
