steet, that's great! this might all work out, and as you said, this can easily be used to see what us members think about modifications done to the site. and who says the topics would have to be for "popular" members, that wasn't what i was thinking at all when i first read about the idea. i was thinking more of topics being made for someone who went way out of thier way and helped a newer member with something or somebody who just greatly contibuted to the site.(which can be BOTH 'popular' and 'unpopular' members.)

I don't think this is a good idea at all.

Most members would abuse the system and turn it into some kind of popularity contest. No, no and NO! I do not support this.

The aim is the opposite : showing works from not-very-popular artists or authors. The galleries don't really allow this, most people only check the most favorited ones.

While that may be true, it could still prove as only an ego-booster and create further cyberbullying and 'ganging up' on other, less appreciated artists.

You must realize that the website is mainly inhabited by pre-teens and teens at around - and under the age of fifteen. During that time, it is easy to become irrational and gang up on others, just to further increase one's own ego and self-esteem (how is that possible on the net anyway?).

I do believe a praise board will eventually lead to the point it would have to be removed.

well no, if there was a rule made against making more than one topic per member, than that would be ok, right? another thread wouldnt be necessary if a topic had been created and was still active.
