Balto is really selfless and all the other kinds of good that come along with it, no doubt. I just always find it a little disgusting when people are that much of a goody two-shoes.

Everyone has their own opinions.

I can agree with this, he never stood up for himself for the most part.

I think he's selfless. He didn't do it just for Rosie, and if he did, he wasn't doing it for selfish reasons. Jenna still would've cared for him even if he hadn't risked his life the way he did. The way I saw it was Balto was an outcast with a heart of gold while Steele was the town 'hero' who was rotten to the core bad and completely selfish. In the end of the episode, their roles were completely reversed because they got what they really deserved.

Exactly, I don't understand the sort of hero worship some people have for Steele. He was a very effective antagonist in the movie, but that was because he was arrogant and selfish to the point of letting everybody in Nome die just to make himself look like a hero. Balto, on the other hand, was willing to do anything - even take a beating from Steele - in order to save the town. That's how I define selfless.

I also don't understand all the Steele love on here to be honest. He's kinda psycho-looking and has a heart of stone. What's to like?
Although I couldn't call myself a fan of Balto anymore (kinda grew out of the wolf/husky faze I had for nearly all my life) I'd agree that he is selfless, but I think Jenna did have something to do with it aswell of course ;3

I'm not sure about other people, but I rather like Steele because he makes a pretty good antagonist. Bad guys need love, too! :]

As for the topic? Ehh.. I do believe that Jenna had a lot to do with him being "selfless".

And I agree there.. I don't think Balto was entirely selfless. Let's face it, he was mostly trying to save Rosie so he could have Jenna. Yes he cared about the kids, but he also wanted to prove himself to the town and win the girl.

^ True, but that doesn't mean the lengths he went to were justified solely by that, a lot of it was out of goodness of his heart.

I will say though, I don't have trouble with, if done right, stories that have Steele get turned around though, just it'd take a LOT to turn him around.
