hmm, how can i put this...well I thought the story was great. But i think that the plots are starting to get a bit....whacky? I mean it is becoming very "un-balto" like and not pertaining much of the spirit of the movies like your earlier works. Now...I didn't say that it was bad, but i would lie to be saying that this one feels the same as your earlier works. I mean...The talkeet trilogy was just friggin awesome as they had enough of the realism and just a touch of the 'out of the ordinary'. Now, again, I still fully enjoyed this one, but I am unsure at the direction you are bringing your stories, as if they are becoming more aimed to please requests from fans, zombies? Now if it was possible to move back towards the realm of 'quasi-realistic' could you do it? I enjoyed those stories a bit more, as it was easier to connect with characters under more realistic events.
Dont get me wrong, Angels and Demons and Zombies, and hellish ressurections are cool and all.....but for balto? Just doesnt fit...Just my thoughts, don't take them wrongly...
And the ending...while that was good too, it wrapped up a little too fast I think...there was no epilouge of sorts to wrap things up. Rotramel...i mean this in the nicest ways, but i truely miss your plots of old, and I know you are the master of your stories, but the magic that made me fall into your fan fics, what has made me connect with your characters....just really isn't there much as of late....... Please dont see this as a post of hate, as it isn't. I look forward to whatever you have in store next and will continue to read your work. But where is the Rotramel that I originally became obsessed with...hahaha. Keep it up man!

Oh, one more comment: I really, REALLY liked the parrallelism to Heaven and Hell, as well as their respective 'lords.' Me being Christian, the whole thing really caught my attention.
However, now that I think about it, I would agree with Nighteyes.
Your plots are stretching from the Balto original (not that that's bad!).
However, what's the use of following the storyline ALL the time? It would get boring, am I right? That's why we have authors like you, who aren't afraid to stretch the boundaries.
And now...come the zombies....

i agree with you lone wolf. I am a christian too and the parrallelism is neat, and that Rotramel stretching boundaries is great, really is...but again...for balto, i would think there are other direcitons in which that can happen....but again, you are the writer and no matter what you do, i will always read and enjoy...never ever didn't enjoy one of yours before, and i doubt that will be the case from now on. :3

He's still here I can assure you.
I've just gotten stuck on this one story, (Outbreak ties in with Balto's Journey, which had to be written because of the ending of When Love Isn't Enough, which tied up the events of the Talkeet Trilogy. Memories was needed to slow down everyones pulse after The Talkeet Trilogy, and The Talkeet Triogy is.. well... The Talkeet Trilogy. ) If you look at it, all of these stories tie together like one massively humongous story. Once that is done, I promise the "old Rotramel" will be back, and in force. The FanFic I plan to write after this is "Balto: The Race". It's going to be about Luke and Balto going on a race in Luke's airplane. One of the contestants goes down, and Luke tries to land to find them. If you haven't guessed already, yes, it crashes, and strands Balto and Luke in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness. Add in that Balto's daughter Shea snuck aboard another airplane (The one that crashed before Luke) and you've got a decent plot, then add in that the area they crash in is the territory of a vicoius wolf clan whom even Aleu and the Talbourne have chosen to leave alone, and.....
THE OLD ROTRAMEL IS BACK!
It'll all happen after Outbreak.
Then I'm working on an idea for another cheating story, but this time things may not go so well....
Thanks for hanging with me through my "crazy times".

Sorry about double posting, but in light of some thinking I've been doing, and the comments I've recently heard (they were very much appreciated, by the way) I've decided to hold off if not cancel Outbreak, and just go with "Balto: The Race". I've come oup with a way to tie in the "danger" I sadi was approaching Nome, and it will be a more "normal" story. (Are ANY of my stories NORMAL? )
Anyway, that's the update for now.
I'm shooting for about 100, to 120 pages on this one, and will prrobably stat tonight. I will shoot for two weeks completion time.
(Not a promise of course, but I'll try)
Again, thank you Nighteyes for "waking me up".
I really do appreciate it!

I've started "Balto: The Race", and it's actually turning out to be more about Luke's past than Balto.
It's a good story though, and I think you'll like it.
It deals with the expected but never acted upon Japanese attack on the Army/Air Corps (The airforce back then) base near White Mountain. (Which is a real town by the way)
Who knows why the Japanese chose to invade in the Aleutian Islands instead of Nome, (The air raid was to kill the air support that would have trashed an invasion in Nome.) but they did, and this will tell you why they didn't attack. Balto gets to go with Luke in combat in an airplane. (A Mrk IV Spitfire) and as the action unfolds I have flashbacks into Luke's past (The "great war" he's always talking about) If you like planes you'll definatly like this one.
Balto finally gets Jenna to ride in a plane with him, and the story will close up with Luke (with Balto's help) thwarting the invasion of Nome, prompting the Japanese to attack the Aleutions (Where we Marines kicked *ss, took names, and more or less did what we do best: "Hop and pop" (i.e. go in fast and kill anything that moves. Hoo-Rah! )
Anyway, the Balto part of the story is that his daughter snuck aboard the plane that gets shot down (during "The Race") and is now stuck (and wounded) not only in territory that is occupied by hostile Japanese, (Luke's plane crashes, and Luke Balto, and Jenna, find themselves in the middle of the first invasion of America (in WW II) by the paratroopers of the Japnese army) but also a very mean and violent wolf pack.
Should turn out to be a great story, but we'll see...
I was also looking at the comments, and saw that you caght the allusion to "heaven and hell, God and Satan. I too am a christian, and I try to pull that into my work a bit.
Can you think of any other allusion I've made to the Bible?
(Pause here and think, then scroll down)
How about when I killed Aleu in "Darkness".
She went to hell, gave her life for her pack's, and came back in three days, sound familliar?
Anyway, that's the update for now, as always thank you for your kind words and CONSTRUCTIVE (I can't stress that enough) critisizem.
(I think I spelled that wrong, but oh well...)
I hope you all have a great day and look forward to hearing from you (as always!)

Alright! I'm liking the sounds of your next work! And I am seeing some reference to an invasion of the Aleutians... Sound familiar for some reason.
Hmm... A Spitfire, you say? Nice. Too bad it's getting shot down. Good plane, the Spitfire. Helped the Britians throw back the Germans in the Battle of Britain.
Keep writing!
By the way, are you still canceling Outbreak? If so, that's too bad. I wanted to get an allusion of Dawn of the Dead without seeing the movie.
