Both because it would've been nice if they had showed Kopa and then show the reason why Zira and the others got banned (it's assumed that he was killed by her) then Kiara comes into the story followed by the whole Romeo & Juliet thing. I suppose though that it would've been too much of a dark story for a Disney movie and probably too long to put in one movie

i don't kow...i don't like kopa but i don't like kiara too.i think ....the should not be in the movie

I don't really understand the whole Kopa story so I'm going to say Kiara. It gets me annoyed when people talk about kopa when he wasn't even in the movie. But it would have been very unique if they kopa and kiara in the same movie.

From a moviemaking standpoint, Kiara was the better choice. But I like them both about the same, maybe even Kopa a little more. Kiara was... dingy at times, seemed a little too stereotypical.

Both! why not have it that way,:idea: no one can say Kiara shouldn't be around or not. and Kopa is in the first movie[that cub is defiantly not Kiara]!

Would you please start adding "to me personally" in your claims? Because the cub is Kiara as they used that cub for baby Kiara in the sequel film's official trailer instead of using the redesigned version or both versions. I believe they used the TLK ending's design in the trailer excactly so that we would know the cub IS KIARA in essemce and so that it would become an official fact for the movie universe. So, why don't you try to get over the design difference for a change or at least start saying that it is Kopa/not Kiara to you PERSONALLY? Because the cub is Kiara and never was Kopa for official matters and you can't deny facts--and though you still do deny them by making such "is" statements based on no facts, you're confusing newcomers in the fandom/forum. -.-

^ Actually from what I read elsewhere, the cub at the end of the first movie IS Kopa, and at the time there were no plans for a sequel.
So I guess when the second came out, they redrew that scene from the very end of the first and tacked it on so as to make you think it was her in the first.

Kopa existed in the books since 1994 and was totally in Disney's copyrights. Yet still, later, in 1995 the first film's makers called the cub at the end of the film FLUFFY and did not mention its gender. Remark: FLUFFY FLUFFY FLUFFY. NO GENDER NO GENDER NO GENDER. As in NOT KOPA NOT KOPA NOT KOPA.

If it was Kopa the film's makers would've said so on the commentary track in 1995 as Kopa already existed in the books, but no, they did not say so because it never was Kopa. Instead they called it FLUFFY and did not even bother to give it a gender reference.

This is why it was so easy for SP's makers to retcon the ending--because the cub did not have an official name or gender until THEY decided that it would be the girl Kiara. Kopa wasn't even created by anyone at Disney's company and most certainly not by any of the film makers which is likely one essential reason why they didn't approve Kopa into any of the films, if even had ever heard of him.

Do your homework by the official sources instead of internet theories and lies, please.

kopa is not the cub in the end of tlk. the cub was genderless , fluffy. then it was kiara. so officaly, it's fluffy / kiara. common sense.

I think its Kopa, simply because of the books. While it may not be "OFFICAL" to some, I look at the box set, and I see a Disney word on it.

That means Disney did sell these books at one time for profit, thus, is enough legit for me to believe in Kopa.
And yeah, Fluffy is not Kopa or Kirara. Its simply an opinion on if it is Kopa or Kirara.

Then forgive me for saying this, TLKGIRL98, but you are blind. Either that or you are too young to see this matter as the rest of us see it with teenage and young adult eyes.

Look, and I mean really look at the markings and... body shape of the cub at the end of the first film, then the cub at the beginning of the second film.

Newsflash: They. Are. Different.

The green-eyed cub presented is, in fact, Kopa, or Chaka, or whatever his name was supposed to be. The red-hazel-eyed cub in SP is Kiara.

No doubt about it.
